Jessica, the new aesthetician is amazingly skilled. My facial was everything a facial should be – targeted to my specific skin care needs (yes, she actually asked), calming, rejuvenating. The products are great but the magic is in Jessica’s technique. Just the right amount of pressure in smooth, repetitive motions is oh-so relaxing with special attention to the temples, forhead and jaw where we all hold tension. Her abundant use of hot, steamy towels makes you feel totally decadent . While your mask does its work, she moisturizes your hands, arms, shoulders by rubbing in a creamy lotion to complete your relaxation. The space is lovely – quiet and serene. Jessica is warm and personable but so respectful of the client’s privacy needs allowing you to enjoy the peace, quiet, and stillness after the facial. Walk Up to Salon Luca…since it’s on the second floor loft of the old Academy which is converted into a neat rustic furniture store with shopping above it. The natural lighting pours in form the side wall which is made completely out of glass…i love it. and it gives off such a serene feeling to be above all the busy Austin bustle below. I have always found not just my own hairdresser but all of the stylists doing great cuts….as I look at other clients coming and going during my appointments there. Heather is AMAZING with color and all of the hairdressers know what they are doing,and do it well! Experienced, Fun & Professional is what you get at Salon Luca…along with REASONABLE prices! Pros + natural lighting, fresh air-due to the great attention to ventilation- NO Perm/carcinogenic odors-With experienced cutting edge stylists and a fabulous colorist! Cons – that there aren’t more Salon Lucas in town!
In an effort to make me happy, the schedulers often ask me when I would like to come and somehow make it happen at the last minute. This translates to some pretty tense and rushed staff members trying to get me through an already full schedule. I wish they front desk would be more realistic and say, “Hey, we are full, come in next week”. I could easily handle that.The ultimate result, though was that my color and cut looked great..but I felt sort of “violated” by the rush rush of the service and the fast intense energy of the colorist and stylist. BUT , YES, I got compliments afterwards from folks about my hair as usual.Pros + quality color and cutsCons – taking on too many clients?
This was our first time at She-Etc. From the time we parked to the time we left, it was a great experience. My husband was a little hesitant to get a couple’s massage since his last massage at a different location was not the best. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with very friendly service. We felt very comfortable from the very beginning. For the couple’s massage, they took us to a little cottage in the back of the main house. As soon as you walk in to the cottage, you know you are in for a great experience. The place was very cozy, warming, decorated beautiful, candles lit all over, fireplace, music that you can just close your eyes and go to la la land. It was so nice that my husband even said, “wow.” We had our private restroom and then our one hour couple’s massage began. My husband and I both agree that we had an awesome massage.
