went on a saturday nite and it was rocking, very crowded. went back on sunday and it was quiet and got to sit. the music was awesome, on sudays if you pay a small cover at B.L.U.E.S across the street they let you in here for free. i caught a set at BLUES and then went into Kingston Mines and saw a band, when they were done i went to the other stage and saw another band. then i went back to BLUES for one more set before heading home. and these guys on Sunday were awesome bands, very well know blues men. three bands in one nite. would love to go back soon. THE BEST! staff at both places were very nice too!

Within walking distance from the loop, and a good atmosphere. Buddy Guy’s is a breath of fresh air for a visitor from Seattle. We paid $10 per person for cover on a Sunday night and were treated to a good show. The environment was just right as there was a crowd but the place wasn’t uncomfortably packed. My wife ordered the Pecan Pie and I had the Soul Combo. The pie was excellent and the Soul Combo was above average. The portion was huge but the ribs were a little tough. This is definitely a sit and listen to music kind of place which contrasts with Kingston Mines. The crowd was definitely older and appreciative of the vibe. I would recommend this place to friends as a must visit while in Chicago.Pros + Atmosphere, service, music and cornbreadCons – Ribs were tough and poor military discount

First of all, if you want something to eat, go to one of those fake Northside Blues joints. Lee’s is a real blues joint, one of the last jems of this city. I used to love going down to Lee’s on Sunday Nights. Everyone got their lesson, now it’s time for their blessin’. Still in their Sunday Church suites, kicking back a few and dancin’ to real blues music. I really recomend you get to this place before the Mayor wants to build a new condo on the site. Then it will be gone, just like Maxwell Street, and the true Checker Board Lounge. But at least we’ll have the House of Blues. Oh almost forgot they are closing, and moving Buddy Guy’s too. Get to Lee’s before it’s gone.Pros + Real Blues ClubCons – A little to far south from downtown, but on Sunday Nights it’s worth it
