Where is the Best Brunch in Norfolk, Nebraska?
My wife and I have been to this restaurant several times, mostly by ourselves, but once with a large family group. We have left every time feeling our money was well spent. One reviewer complained about food being mircowaved. We’ve never seen any evidence of this. The only quibble would be to add a $ to the price range. Most entries at night seem to be in the $14-$25 range.
Friendly staff, plenty of outdoor seating. Food was a mixed bag… Shrimp & scallop Rockefeller was tasty, with nice large shrimp and a abundance of scallops, but we couldn’t find the bacon that was advertised as being in this dish. Very messy to eat if you try to get every morsel out of the shrimp tail shell. The seafood platter was mixed. The flounder was excellent, if a little bony as were the hand cut calamari (though no bones in those). The shrimp was tasty, but few. The scallops were dissappointing, but that may have been the breading. The crab cake was decent – better than some, but not even close to the best. The cocktail sauce was very tasty, not too hot with good flavor. The tartar sauce was also well flavored. The key lime pie was average. It was a little too soft for my taste and the crust was a bit thick, but overall a decent pie.
My husband and I went to this restaurant with another couple because we had heard it was award winning. I was very disappointed. There were only a few other parties in the entire place and this was a Friday night! We had really slow service and my crab cakes were terrible. They made me feel sick later that night. My husband had the filet mignon and his was really great. Our friends had the pork chops and seafood combination pasta. I tried the pasta and it was delicious. I think it’s better to go for their tea, not their dinner and would try their tea, but not eat a meal there again. Save your money and go somewhere else for dinner!
