Where is the Best Budget Date Spot in Minneapolis, Minnesota?
I wouldn’t call it a must see. it’s not like there’s bands, or weird under the sea themed decor, and nothing ever happens there. Just a bunch of people sitting around drinking beer and talking. So if that sounds Super exciting to you, then i guess it’s a must see and you and your family can take turns photographing each other in front of the big buck hunter or the bathroom stalls.I go to the cc club because of the patio, the cheap pitchers, the cheeseburgers and the fact that it’s close and there will probably be someone i know there. I don’t go to the cc club because of the sometimes sh*tty service, the typically rude door girl / patio “manager” (she’s quite the stickler) and the juke box that Never changes. and maybe the recycled crowd. it’s just a neighborhood bar, so try not to include it on your “uptown pub crawl.” that would be inappropriate, guyPros + close and cheapCons – rude lady at the door
This is my favorite restaurant in the twin cities. I have been going there for years while living in St. Paul and now that I live in Mpls. still worth the drive. They have wonderful Vietnamese sandwiches on French Bread with pickled vegetables, fresh cilantro and a variety of toppings such as pate, meatball, read roasted pork, or vegetarian. Their Pho is to die for, not too salty, topped with fresh vegetables and lime. My favorite dish is the dry egg noodle soup which comes with noodles, meat and vegetables in one bowl and the broth in another. Their French Press coffee with sweeted condensed milk is also to die for. You can drink it hot or pour it over ice. The coffee is brought to your table and you can watch it brew, drip from the French Press. AMAZING service, get your food within 5 minutes, and very cheap. Sandwiches start at $1.50. You can also get food to go. Just some advice, they only take credit card with a $10.00 minimum, so bring cash if you are not too hungry.Pros + Ma
This place has a great variety of malts and they are some of the best malts in town. I think they are comparable if not better than Annie’s Parlour in Dinkytown (which also has great malts). I usually order the hamburger and ceasar salad there and it hits the spot if you in the mood for just a good burger that doesn’t cost $10. It’s feels like a diner style restaurant, good for families. Not good for first dates or a romantic setting. The beef au jus is very tasty there also. The waffle french fries are always a plus too. Overall, a decent place with good service and a meal to please the stomach. Not gourmet, but a very relaxing restaurant atmosphere. Two people could go there and walk out with a bill well under $20.
