Where is the Best Budget Date Spot in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania?
My mom and I went to Little Pete’s for a weekend breakfast recently – It was awesome. I’m from a small southern Indiana town, and the overweight bleach blonde waitress who referred to her customers as “hun” was a little bit of home for me! 🙂 What people out here call “comfort food” is normal food to me and that’s Little Pete’s. You won’t find healthy exciting or inventive dishes on the menu, but you’ll find plently of GOOD eats and isn’t that what it’s all about after all??Pros + grease = delicious foodCons – grease = fatty food
I moved to Queen Village 2 years ago. I always go here for happy hours and great food. order anything on the menu, they are all great. The place get really packed on Friday night and Saturday night. But you don’t have to wait long. Waitress will do whatever it takes to get you seated as soon as they can. Only one problem that i don’t like about is you can’t sit outside for happy hour price anymore. It’s at the bar only. I want to be able to sit outside and drink beers but now we can’t do that. Pros + Food, serviceCons – crowded, can’t sit outside for happy hour price
As a passionate lover of beer and burgers, the Standard Tap is absolutely one of my favorite spots in Philly. Always a fantastic selection of local brews that are served by the most knowledgable bartenders I’ve encountered. Just tell them what kind of beer you’re in the mood for and they’ll do the rest. They’ve never done me wrong. The Standard Burger literally tastes as if It was made by God himself. It’s common knowledge in these parts that this is the best burger in Philly. Even the mushrooms on the burger are incredible! Put it this way, my father loved it,and he doesn’t like anything. The crowds usually a friendly mix of local blue-collar and professional types. I’ve also had many interesting conversations with out-of-towners.Pros + food, beer, atmosphereCons – no TV
Viet Nam is one of my favorite places. I don’t know why I haven’t written about it before. First, they don’t take reservations, so, on Friday and Saturday, it’s good to go early – around 6:30 to 7.The menu is extensive. If you’re not familiar, do not be shy about asking your server. The staff is most helpful. I have even had times when they say “not” to order something.Portions here are ample. So, even though you get the impression that each person gets an individual entree, you can certainly share, as you do in a Chinese restaurant. This is an important thing to remember – because you really don’t need an individual dish per person.Everything I have had there has always been very good, but when sharing, I would move to such things as the shrimp, scallops, squid with salt and pepper. This is a great dish and , with the rice, is sufficient for two. Clay “dish”items are also very good, but not always enough to share. ( They are not called clay “dish” but the mindless guard
