Where is the Best Celebrity Chef in Atlanta, Georgia?
It bums me out to see the comparison of 5 star and 1 star reviews for H&F. And honestly, all the complaints are because of service or set up. I’ll certainly admit, it’s pretty much like a circus in there at times, but to me, it’s been part of the charm. To those annoyed with this situation, here’s an idea: go for brunch. Hit H&F for brunch a few weeks ago, arrived at 11:30am, right when they opened, and while there were already 10 or so folks waiting outside. Once the doors to opened, my partner and I strolled in and practically had the bar to ourselves. There wasn’t an issue of “not getting a burger” and it was the exact same drippy, wonderful mess they serve when half of Atlanta is asleep during the weeknights. The place was, of course jammed by the time we left, but this brunch thing might be the ticket. Arrive early, bring the Sunday Times and a cup of coffee and wait it out for a half-hour or so. I think it’s worth it. Pros + The burger, NOT at 10pmCons – People line up
Culinary Designer, star of Bravos Top Chef, Richard Blais has done it again! This place is a meat lovers paradise, I counted at least 15 types of burgers! (veal, shrimp, chorizo, salmon, mushroom, beef, steak tartare, lobster, to name a few) Trendy yet hip, theres always a waiting list. I wouldnt recommend it for a date, its noisy and fast paced, however, you can still hold a decent conversation. I feasted on the lamburger, topped with a green olive relish, cucumber yogurt, raisin ketchup, mint, we all enjoyed our meal and found it to be creatively tasty and flavor- filled. (oh..how can I forget the smoked caesear salad topped with threads of chili pepper, excellent flavor) Be warned! Most items are fried! Of course, all items are freshly prepared, homemade, even the condiments. The burgers small to medium size.We decided not have dessert, since afterall, theres no cake, pies, just very rich, decadent shakes, like Nutella+bu
This is what I heard……food not so hot, everybody over 80. This is what I found…a very nice upscale fine dining experience. Not sure how that age thingy came about……the people in my section were in their 30’s. Food not so hot?? Found just the opposite. The food was delicious. Everything tasted fresh and competently prepared. I had gazpacho with shrimp starter, red snapper main and chocolate tart dessert. I enjoyed them all and I?m not a person who usually orders fish at restaurants. The service was excellent without hovering. The courses were served at the same time to the entire table which is the right way to do it although at Bacchanalia it was very notably not the case and for only a party of 3. As I was leaving I looked around a bit and saw a small intimate bar that looked like a great place to perch before dinner. One item of note?.a few tables around us appeared to be doing the tasting menu. We always try to take advantage of that and the matching wine cour
Great food here. You should go. My son had the Cowboy Rib Eye. It was the best tasting steak I have ever sampled. The piece of meat had an unique flavor all it own- not sure what is was but it was delicious. Everything that came to the table was great. Everyone who worked there had a smile and were quite friendly. The manager went out of his way to make the evening a good time for all. The tables are bunched up a bit but I guess if they weren’t half of the people trying to get a reservation would be out of luck. Parking was easy. Location was off the beaten path.Pros + Incredible FlavorsCons – Loud when sober (festive after a drink or two)
