I went to the Mark for a special event about a week ago. I really had a great time; it is much bigger than it looks! I liked how the different levels had different DJs playing…something for everyone. The drinks a standard fare, but well made. 3 things stood out at this location: 1. The bartender had a great attitude. Sometimes bartenders can seem too busy or snotty….but not here. She was great. All smiles and listened to our order (my girlfriend likes her martini a special way…and she was happy when it arrrived!) 2. The bouncers. They were actually nice. One of them saw a guy bothering my friend. We did not even have to ask for help. HE came to us. We told him that the guy was creeping us out a little. He went over, and told the guy to “give us a little space”. The creepy guy did more than that…he left us alone totally! The bouncer even checked back with us a little later to make sure we were okay. I have been to Treehouse many, many times: with girlfriends, on dates, brunch, drinks, dinner, you name it… Great menu, I’ve never ordered anything I didn’t like. However, my last visit may very well be my LAST visit. Our server, BETHANY, was completely rude pretty much throughout our entire meal. The food took longer than it should have, but what was really absurd was the fact that a friend had to ask three times for her dressing. Another friend was asked to “chug” her martini because the kitchen was out of martini glasses. Then when the bill came, Bethany refused to split it 6 ways, telling us that she was too busy. We asked to speak to the manager, and much to our dismay it was her. She gave us a condescending lecture on how their policy is no split checks, again stating how she was way too busy (there were open tables on the patio, and no one waiting to be seated) and then said “I need you to split your checks and pay, and I need you to do it NOW.” It is no wonder to me that her

The old Biltmore LIVES. The old Biltmore Hotel’s basement now opens to an astutely designed club with chic cocktails and see-and-be-seen opportunities. Several blocks from overblown Crescent Avenue, this demure lounge places modern furniture against a concrete backdrop. The mood is set with oversized blown-glass light fixtures that bathe the crowd in a flattering glow. The bar is long, white and glows various shades of red, blue and yellow throughout the evening. A glass wall behind the bar reveals a two-level lounge where DJs play down-tempo tunes on weekend nights. Lots of events and specials. Lots of fun….
