“GRIFF’S!! GRIFF’S!! GRIFF’S!!” By the end of the night, my friends and I were chanting it. Been there twice during the summer, food is cheap and great. Wings, phillies, fries and rings all have my vote, especially with the gift certificate coupons you can find at a site that rhymes with westaurant dot com. Actually, the staff recognized us on our 2nd visit, and they were having pizza for some regulars and offered us some.My brother went there for trivia recently and came in second place. Apparently he got owned by some law professors. Awesome; any place that can offer up folk who can take down my genius of a brother is deserving of a lot of love.Good corn hole; can’t wait to try it out for horns away games next football season and for this bloody mary bar that this site speaks of.Pros + Sweet collection of beer cans and old dusty sports flagsCons – None, unless you consider beers served in plastic cups a con

I get mixed feelings about this place because it looks SOOO nice on the inside and there hasn’t been a cover the two Saturdays I went. However, the bouncers try to do that “New York sh*t” with the whole “try to create a line outside by simply not letting people in” thing. For example… I, along with 5 friends approached the door at about 10:30 on a Saturday. No one else was in line, or even on the same block. The (short skinny dude with weird hair who shouldn’t even be allowed to be called a) bouncer asked us if we were “on anyone’s list.” After I said no, he told me we would have to wait for a second, because he needed to give priority to the people who were on the list. We looked around… Still no one nearby. I waited for maybe 45 seconds, then was given the obligatory “just give me a second. I’ll take care of you guys in just a second” stuff. Another friend asked who was throwing the party, and the guy gave the same answer. Real cute, guys. This is Houston. NYC gets a

While on business I recently stayed at the Alden. I got pretty much what I expected. The room was small but comfortable and functional. The hotel is in a great location of many restarants and bars. They provided shuttle service to and from the convention center. This was very convienant and the driver was extremely friendly. The reason that I will go back to this hotel was the staff. From check in, to vale, to the bartenders I was greated by extremely friendly and attentive staff members. They couldn’t have made my stay more enjoyable.Pros + Very attentive, friendly staffCons – $250 rate/Small room

This place has really changed from the first time I visited 2 years ago – not my last visit obviously as I love wine!! It has more of a wine bar atmosphere than the former retail look, but wow the biggest change is in Management. The new General Manager Christopher Lawrence Barrett is a walking, talking, wine encyclopedia. The wine selection has become more eclectic, boutique, and quite wonderful. I now buy all my retail wine there as well as enjoying the atmosphere and wine-speak going on in the bar area. Did I mention the cheese – supporting local entreprenuers The Dairy Maids Mr. Chris hand selects a boutique cheese assortment to compliment his boutique wines. If you crave fine wines, cheeses, and extraordinary wine knowledge to tap into – this is your place. Go ahead ask, ask, ask, – I did and have been rewarded with some of the best wine finds and information around because have you noticed – just about everyone is opening wine bars these days with or without the expertise
