Where is the Best Chinese Food in Oakland, California?

I visited this resturant on a Friday night. It was really loud that I had to shout across the table to to speak with my company, I just gave up and quit talking after a while, as did my company. One of my friends ordered the Mediterranean Beef, and the description said it was lightly fried. Well we couldn’t find the beef.. All we could find was fried breading that was very, very crunchy. Although I had the dry fried chicken and it was very good, so what you order is kind of h*t or miss. The drink prices are a little high, but not horrible. I will go back but not on a weekend and hope to have a conversation this time.Pros + good location.Cons – Loud, Service not so great. Drink prices a little high.

It is a nice place to chill and drink. The music wasnt bad the time i went… but it is definitely more of a place to relax. There is a small dance floor in the back. The table service was good. I would go again for sure ………………………..

So we were looking for a dim sum place and my friend came across this place as being top-rated dim sum in SF. It is a little hidden cause it is located inside this building but ask around a people will direct you to the right place. We ordered my standard stuff and overall it wasnt anything super impressive. The chicken feet were tender and spicy usual. Pork ribs again spicy and tender pretty usual. Taro root was nicely crisped with typical pork and taro filling. Shanghai soup dumplings were so so but it may be hard to beat cause I had them in asia recently. Peking duck had a nice crispy skin but the portion was very small. Wonton shrimp roll was soft and not mushy. The egg tart had a nice flaky crust with just the right amount of sweetness in the soft custardy filling. The service was really nice which is surprising to me for a dim sum place. Waiterswaitresses were very willing to help track down dishes we were looking for.Overall just average dim sum for me but maybe Im being too criti

“Best of the East Bay” the sign outside proclaims. Well, it’s wrong. Granted, it may be slightly better than some of the local Chinese joints, but only because they are sub-par. Basically, no one around here knows what good Chinese tastes like, and therefore thinks LSS is decent. The food is average at best. Nothing special. I’ve eaten there many times, always hoping something will change, but no. Except, since Fenton’s moved in, there is NO parking, and the wait for take-out can be an hour long. The hostesses also tend to be slightly rude.Plus, it’s expensive for Chinese and the portions are small. My last order, I got rice for two. The half-pint container they gave me was less than half full. Less than what any other place would give for one. They had time to make two batches in the time I waited for my food. Pros + Okay food, Good for kids, Nice locationCons – Expensive, No parking, Long waits

Golden Lotus is completely veg and has tons of mock meats and typical East Asian vegan fare. my favorites: the cashew chicken, sweet and sour chicken, tofu with eggplant, and any of the soups. prices are reasonable ($7-$10 for most entrees) and they also offer a lunch menu ($4-$6) and a cafeteria style lunch option that is fast and cheap. i have eaten there many times in the last three years and, just for the record, have always found it to be clean, friendly, and, a-hem, bug-less.
