Where is the Best Family-Friendly Hotel in New York, New York?
Found this hotel on Expedia — which did not calculate all the various taxes that would be included, so beware of the “$97 a night” ad — it’s closer to about $130 after all taxes have been added. BUT it is STILL the best deal ever! Rooms were clean and remodeled with great beds; rooms were overall very nice, although you could hear everyone and anyone else who was entering or exiting their room. You just can’t beat how close you are to everything within walking distance. I literally parked the car (beware of the rip of Park Centre right next door on W. 31st — more than $100 for two days when the sign misleads you in thinking it’s closer to about $30/day) checked in and headed out on the town. The service at the hotel was excellent, with very polite people working the desk. I would definitely stay there again! Caveat: Not the place for a romantic interlude — for that I recommend Club Quarters in the financial district. Herald Square is simply a crash pad.
My friends and I stayed here for a weekend. Convenient location. Accessible to the Theater District. We were able to walk to everywhere – restaurants, bars, clubs. The rooms were suprisingly spacious and inexpensive for NYC. The staff was helpful and accommodating and provided us with adjoining rooms. The hotel is not ultra-trendy or pretentious. Down-to-earth and good for all – singles, couples, families. The service was good. The rooms were very clean. Breakfast in their restaurant was delicious and fairly priced. The restaurant staff was also courteous and very accomodating. An absolute great deal! Will stay there again. Highly recommend!!Pros + inexpensive, clean, accommodatingCons – none
Stayed here from 3/20/04 – 03/25/04. Was totally thrilled with our stay. Room was #421, a corner room. Don’t know if other rooms are smaller but our’s was quite comfortable! There were four of us, kids 19 and 21 and we had loads of room to move around and TWO closets! Room clean. Only area that could use some work was blinds on the windows that were really dirty, but there were heavy curtains on the window also so we pulled then and that solved that problem! We were never in the room during the day anyway! Two blocks from Times Square and close to everything in the area. At $120.00 a night this was a great deal. Parking garage across street. Hotel will validate your parking ticket for the lower rate! I would highly recommend to anyone! Don’t let the name keep you from checking it out!!Pros + close to everything, parking garage, priceCons – , some street noise
