The guided tour was $10 for 1.5hr, not free. Good idea, heard about tour, live in Philly. Wanted to learn more/ see more of city hall. The tour started in a classroom type office with the guide talking for about 20 minutes. Mostly about random William Penn history and city history. Saw a few neat rooms, stairways, sculptures, nice views. Tour ends with the tower, you take elevator to the top just under William Penn’s feet. You can walk out and look around in all directions. Great view to say the least. I thought the tour was too long, could of been done in 45 minutes. Glad I checked it out. If I go back I will just pay $5 to check out the tower. Go on a fair weather day as the tour is outdoor and indoor.Pros + get to see the inside of city hall and towerCons – not free, $10 for 1.5hr tour, $5 for tower only

I love Rittenhouse Square. Although I can’t really afford to live all that clsoe to it, I still make a point to visit it as often as possible. It is a beautiful park. Trees light up with lights during the holidays and fountains in the summer. there seems to be something going on at all hours. Late at night you can catch people walking their dogs. On weekends it’s a mixture of old and yound, artsy and yuppie. I can walk through the park and see a couple of guys having a beer, some playing chess, couples kissing, and the whole square is surrounded by activity. Too bad Washington Sq doesn’t have the same vibrancy.

I spend a lot of time defending the Philly Poe site. After all, it is empty. That is, the National Park Service has decided that rather than filling the house with non-authentic furniture, or trying to guess what it might have looked like, the house is empty and has been brought back to as-original-as-possible condition. Personally, I think it is…

A fine example of Federal architecture, the oldest bank building in the country was headquarters of the governments bank from 1797 to 1811. Designed by Samuel Blodget Jr. and erected in 1795-97, the bank was an imposing structure in its day, exemplifying strength, dignity, and…

Growning up in this city, I must say that the past 30 years I’ve seen a complete turn around inside Fairmount Park, that everyone should come back, even the deers came back. I wasn’t the outdoorsman until last year when I decided to take the 8 mile walk and run path up Kelly Dr, and back down MLK Dr alongside the river banks, is when I seen the park for what it’s worth. Take a day and go through the trails, see the wildlife and enjoy the bike paths. This park shouldn’t be a secret anylonger… Pros + Fresh air, sernery, locationCons – Canadian Geese, bathroom
