Where is the Best Gay and Lesbian Bar in Portland, Oregon?

I have been a valued patron at CC Slaughters since it’s days on Stark Street when it had a pink door with a round hole for a window. It had an upstairs, wonderful crowd, dance floor and areas to sit, dine and chat. In the mid-90’s, Slaughter’s featured an all you can eat breakfast buffet for $2.99. It was amazing and so filling. Gay guys and the girls who love them would pile into the bar, eat until you pop and meet new people who sat at your table. People left other bars early to get to CC’s for seating. It was the most popular single item that drew crowds Friday and Saturday and now…it’s gone. So is the fun, the crowds, the money they made and left behind is bitter-sweet memories. John Jr. and John Senior (founders) knew how to add flare while helping customers feel welcome. Then, CC’s moved to a new home. For nearly 10 years, I visited every Saturday only missing a few. I danced with friends, met new people and had too much fun. Once the new owners began making changes, it change

I have mixed feelings about the Silverado?s new location. I?ve been going to the Silverado regularly for several years and am starting to question why. I often leave wondering whether there are things going on in the club that I?m better off not knowing. For example, are the dancers straight, gay, hustling? Why is the staff sometimes very friendly and other times aloof? Why are so many customers (of all sizes, shapes, and ages) so self-absorbed? Why do some of the cutest guys there bring a ?girlfriend? with them? The traffic pattern at the new club is horrible on a busy night or on a Sunday afternoon. Going to the bar to get a drink and navigating customers who will not move an inch only encourages me to sip my drinks very slowly. The new club appears to have retained its loyal following of customers and stable of male ?performers,? so they must be doing something right. I suppose I should just accept that I?m stepping into another world for a couple of hours ? a world where the rul

I’ve been going to this bar for over a year now, and still love it! Not only can you choose where you wanna hang out in the bar….in one of their 3 rooms, which all include a full service bar. Plus they have the best french fries around!!! The staff is great, and the owners treat their employees like family. Like any bar there is smoking in all rooms, so be aware for non-smokers. Straight, bi, or gay you’re more then welcome into the bar. The usual people that go to the bar will welcome you with open arms as they all have a good time. Pros + Staff, service, drinks….all around greatCons – If you don’t like smoking

There are so many great breakfast/brunch places in Portland that it’s hard to pick a favorite (Helser’s Tin Shed, Jam, Genie’s, Bread and Ink, Cafe du Berry, Junior’s all come quickly to mind). Topping my list at the moment is Crush. I’ve never been there at night when the hipsters allegedly arrive, but have had the Sunday brunch (9 to 3). The menu is reasonably varied, with classy breakfast choices on one side and some more lunch-brunch type selections like mac & cheese on the flip. I especially like the chilaquiles and the scrambles, some with meat and others vegetarian. Very flavorful with ingredients like Antique Cheddar (not sure what that means). They even get the little touches right — e.g., using sliced fennel on the sliced apple that garnishes most of the dishes. There’s also something I haven’t seen elsewhere in P-Town: free cornbread and toast, both self-serve. The Stumptown coffee (not free) is also self-serve. There’s amazing art throughout the place (apparently by the ow

I agree with all comments from the previous review. The staff is wonderful, kind and personable. The food is superb. Fresh wrapped is good if it is not fried. All soup is scrumptious. The fried lobster bites are awsome (especially with the sauce)… the list goes on. Eat anything and you will be happy. Drinks are great and made by a bartender who knows their stuff.Big screen that is showing cartoons (or sportscenter) as you are listening to music.I miss the live DJ, but the staff generally has a good choice in music (or Aqua Teen Hunger Force). Not too crowded… and to me, this is the best part. This is an intimate and cozy bar with a non-smoking room in the front, a smoking room in the back (with great wall-art), and a couple tables out front during the dry season. Highly recommended! You must go there and try it out yourself!Pros + food, drinks, intimate atmosphere
