Where is the Best Hair Salon in Minneapolis, Minnesota?
I’ve had mixed experiences at Aveda. The first time was fine-just got a trim. The next time I tried a cut and swirl (a few highlights around the face). After 2 hours of the sylist combing my hair and taking little snips off, the instructor pretty much did my whole haircut in 10 minuts. So, still not a bad deal. The last 2 times I’ve had a fabulous student named Jessica, who is very professional. You have to know what you want and make sure to communicate that up front. They pull out hair color samples and you agree to it. I plan to keep going for hair. I’ve also had a good facial there.My only gripe is the pedicures. They don’t have typical massage chairs, and they don’t even use water. It’s basically like paying someone $20 to literally paint your toenails. I paid the extra $5 to get a mask with steamy towels, and that was the best part. But, overall, I was not impressed. I could have painted my own toes. My first haircut and styling at Lili was the best.The massage at the wash bowl started the experience. I enjoyed that!! My stylist visited with me, made suggestions about the cut and she took the time to do an elegant job. I wish we had “before” and “after” pictures! The salon was a sparkling, peaceful and pretty. My daughter and I got facials and both were great experiences. The rooms were calming and private. The technicians were skilled and listened to our needs. I get facials all the time and this was one of the best ever. They did a nice massage in addition to the standard masks and exfoliations – strongly recommend. Both of our skin looked great.
My stylist, Martha, was attentive and gave a me a great cut. She listened to me and addressed all my concerns and the end result was a great haircut, I am very pleased. She made suggestions, but was not pushy in offering products to suit my needs. She even knew about henna (which I use on my hair) and didn’t sneer down her nose at me as other stylists have done. The fact that I use henna means that she would never be able to make money from me by coloring my hair because you can’t color over it. Nevertheless, she sincerely complimented my color (as do most people who aren’t stylist ) and commented on what a good job I do with it.The environment at Pull Out a Plum is quite nice, they offer artwork, jewerly among other things. So you’re not bored at all while waiting for your turn. My husband even somewhat interested in some of the items in the shop while he was waiting for me to finish. When I lived with my parents I had a fantastic stylist and colorist at a salon in my home town. When I left for college, I began with what would become a continuous search for a stylist who would make me feel/look great. I tried the salon near campus, which had cheap student cuts and was a quick walk and was never terribly impressed. Then I got a gift card to Juut . I had never been, so when I called to make an appointment for a cut and foil, I was not caught off guard by them giving me only one appointment time and one name. Halfway through my color, the colorist asked who was cutting my hair and I said that I didn’t know. When he checked we learned that no cut had been scheduled. Thankfully they were able to find someone to blowdry my hair. So, I scheduled an for a cut appointment with that stylist. The color I got was fine, not inspiring or amazing. It looked nice and natural, but most people, even my close girlfriends, didn’t notice, which is disappointing after paying almost
