Where is the Best Hamburger in New York, New York?
The decor is very cool..I think the meat hooks as decorations are a nice touch. Reminded me a little of pasts (on a much bigger scale) especially the communal bathroom sink. Anyway, getting back on track to the food… DF ordered the Chicken, Noodle & Matzo Ball Soup app which was DELICIOUS!! who would think that a burger place had quality matzo ball soup? Next time I’m getting my own.. I opted for the Southwestern special sushi roll (spicy yellowtail, cilantro, asparagus, scallion soy wrapper, jalapeno & tobiko) which was really good! (FYI they don’t do any subs on the rolls)For entrees, my boy got the Inside Out Burger on a bun which he said was good and I got the Ahi Tuna Burger which was incredible! Absolutely delcious..i licked my plate clean..then finished off my boy’s fries. All burgers come with fries which were crispy and seasoned well. They give a generous amount of fries with your burger which was nice. I know a lot of people complained about the spotty serv
The problem with many of New Yorks best burger joints Shake Shack excepted is the lackluster fries that accompany the pice de resistance. JG Melon avoids this quandary by turning out incredibly crisp and moist cottage fries alongside their burgers. The burgers themselves are on the small side so its good that the fries are so stellar or most customers would leave without feeling full. A cup of delicious chili is also an option here in case youre not in the mood for fries though whos ever not.Ive only ever frequented JGs in the wee hours before heading home after a night of carousing. The place is still lively even toward closing time and the old-school pub ambience is easy to negotiate even when you dont have all your wits about you. And the perfectly done burgers and unique fries will definitely restore you for whatever comes next.
I had a birthday party for 2 people one night (March 27 and our table had @12 people. We reserved one for 10 because we weren’t sure who would show up or cancel. When we got there, the hostess upstairs told us that 8 people had to show up. Then, when we were told to go to our table downstairs, the hostess downstairs questioned us because we were suppose to have 9 people. She was the real rude one.Once all that was settled, the hostess kept telling us that more chairs could not be added until the additoinal people showed up. This was not explained in a nice manner but in a condescending way. Rude. Everyone thought these people were all rude. Fortunately, our server was fine and she did a good job getting to everyone their food and drinks.I actually really like this place because when I go to the bar with my coworkers after work, they are great. DMANBURGER “Burger Joint at Le Parker Meridien Hotel”January 11, 2010 The Burger Joint is a clandestine hole in the wall greasy spoon, decorated with old movie posters and outdated beer signs. The walls are scribbled with comments from past patrons such as Andrew Dice Clay and strange various sarcastically outspoken vegan worshipers. I approached the crowded counter and was immediately confronted by the abrupt cashier about my decision to order; quickly I gathered my thoughts and satisfied her impatience.I decided on a cheeseburger with the “works” which was one of only two choices on the simple bare menu, I pulled up a stool and waited to taste New York City’s much blogged about burgers.
