I have been practicing at Bikram Yoga Houston for 2 years now and I have to disagree with the review that said the owners are only about making money. I feel, since the directors and staff are so kind and supportive of me and other students, that I need to stick up for them. First of all, they do not advertise a “30 Day Challenge”, at $20 per class. That’s just ridiculous. The schools have a 60 Day Challenge and I have never been pressured or have seen them pressure anyone to do that. Bikram, himself, says to brand new students “Do 60 classes in 60 days and you will receive a new body, new mind, new spirit.” What the owners of Bikram Yoga Houston suggested to me, and what I have heard them say to new students is, 10 classes in 30 days to receive the maximum benefits of this yoga. And practicing in LA myself, like the reviewer below, Bikram says the exact same thing – 10 classes in 30 days for maximum benefits. There are class packages to help us save money. It’s not $20 per cl

clearly, by the amount of personal testimony this is a beloved gym. after years of bouncing around houston’s gyms (bally’s, fit, ymca) i found my gym that is my home away from home to work out at timberline.there are so many great things about timberline, i will try to capture many of them here:1. the people- the staff can work with any fitness level and is supportive and helpful to all. plus they’re FUN and they make working out fun.2. the clients- some of the nicest people. that said, do not feel that this is social club. if you want to come and workout and go on with your day-that’s cool just expect lots of people to smile at you, including your fellow workout company.3. dogs-they have really nice kennels in the parking lot if you hate to leave your dog cooped up inside while you run off to the gym you can bring fido! plus, some of the trainers bring their dogs to the gym from time to time and it always makes my day to see a 4 legged friend at the gym.4. variety- there is SO

I started going with two of my friends, and i loved it!! I work out all of the time, and I didn’t think a pilates class would be that hard. However, my legs were shaking walking out of the buidling. The class is so quaint and professional, and the instructors are highly qualified. It was so much fun. They are encouraging. The classes are very small and intimate, so there is no need to feel intimidated. I recommend this class to ANYONE who is in a workout-rutt, and wants to add a new spark to their fitness routine!!You will see (and feel) results immediately! Fun fun fun!

My family and I have been working out at MAC for almost a year now. It is such a vibrant part of this local community. We see all of our neighbors and area business owners working out here. All of our kids go to the same school. For those of us who are not competing in the Mr. Olympia contest, there is no intimidation factor here at all. It is currently under renovation– which is much-needed– so, on the negative side, you do put up with some excess noise from construction. That should get better soon, however. Overall, highly recommended!Pros + Family-friendly environmentCons – under-renovation
