The Good: Cheap drinks on thursdays, generally not overcrowded considering its sizeThe Bad: 25$ minimum for a card, one time the bouncers didn’t let my friend in because he was black, they said it was…

According to our bartender, their resident wine director buys out an entire years of any particular wine that she falls in love with, so many of the labels are exclusive to District. Tasting flights come in thoughtful combinations like “Bubbles Around The World”, or “Oak vs Stainless”. We started off with an “Aromatic Whites” flight, mussels w/ Pernod cream, and truffled hamachi tartare w/ uni sauce. Moved on to a “Spices & Berries” flight, juicy lamb meatballs, and capered beef carpaccio. Killer. We made the mistake of trying to eat here the night of a Giants game, and had to drive around the block 5 times before we found parking, but we’re glad we stuck with it. We had unknowingly come on the last night they would be open on a Sunday, and were surprised at how comfortably empty the place was. Had our choice of seating, but decided it would be more fun to sit at the bar. They will be closed on Sundays from now on and opening up on Mondays along with every other day of the week

This bar is cool since it’s right down the street from where I stay. They have a smoking lounge (says it’s a patio, but actually indoors, which is nice) for smokers like me… They have a great happy hour, and 4 for $10 Jello Shots 24/7! Can’t beat that! There’s also dancing with a pretty big floor (for this part of town) but it gets packed on the weekends. The bartenders serve quickly and with lots of friendliness, despite large crowds. If you can squeeze your way to the counter, you’ll get served quickly.Pros: Great deals on drinks all the time, smoking lounge, dancing, diverse crowdCons: Gets super packed (and I mean PACKED!) on weekends during peak bar hours, doesn’t take ATM/Credit cards for tabs (but there is an ATM inside for withdrawls :-)Pros + Drink deals, dancing, smoking lounge, location (from my place)Cons – Parking looks hard, gets really packed during weekend peaks, can’t run a tab

I have been living in SF for over 10yrs and I wanted to check out a new club. I took a chance and was pleasantly surprised. I came early and chopped it up with 2 cool bartenders. As the evening progressed I discovered that the crowd represented what SF is all about diversity, meeting people from different places, and enjoying life. If you are a single straight 20-30 yr. old women looking to meet some straight men while listening to top 40 hip hop music, drinking, and dancing this is a good place (there was a lrger boy to girl ratio). I met a counselor from Hayward, Latino from the Yucatan, Contortionist from the city, club owner(s), entertainment producer from LA, dancer from Kenya, and some people from Oakland. The dance floor is small, but that’s what made it so SF. There is plenty of street parking. What could make this place better is if someone took care of the bathrooms.Pros + The crowd, parking, and serviceCons – Bathrooms
