The first impression you get of the place is elegant and inviting. The host stand area was very congested due to a large party that they were waiting to seat. Our waiter came to the table almost immediately after we were seated. He welcomed us with a smile and then asked if we had been there before, we told him we had and he welcomed us back. We said we would be ordering wine and he immediately suggested his favorite wine. He describe us a wine appeared very knowledge and told us the ranking among wine critics. At first we thought he wanted to sell a very expensive bottle, but we were surprised that a wine was in a mid-range price for a Tuscan wine. We ordered the Borgonero that he recommend. He offer us start with calamari but we declined. He told us about the specials and was very detailed in his description. We placed our order for salad and dinner. He was constantly coming to the table to check on us but was not overly bothersome. He started getting busy but made sure that we were ta

I agree…..a few things to note… Jimmy’s is about to start closing on Sundays on March 23, sad news for us in the hood as my wife and I would often split an Italian Stallion all the way, and a Cuban with hot sauce on those lazy days. And dont be a sissy and skip the hot sauce either…. If you go there for lunch during the week get there by 11:15 or the crush of yuppies from downtown will push your wait time to over 30 minutes. Dont forget Mama’s homemade meatballs, really are the best Ive ever had, frozen or ready to go, and the homemade Italian sausage fresh in the case. Get a meatball sub with peppers and onions, thats what our son orders, and the smell of the garlic and cheese will have you opening the box before you shut your car door. Yeah you can eat there if you want, there’s tables. And in the side freezers by the door you can pick up small batch ice cream from Henry’s of Plano that is the best Ive had in town, or homemade pastas and other entrees made fresh in store. And d

We dined here a few days ago with a group doing a little wine tasting. It was impromptu as we had friends in from out of town and did not want to feed them another steak or baked potato. With a little assistance from Adelmo, we picked out four bottles of wine (a white and three tuscans) and had a nice experiment with wines that we have never had before. We ordered family style mussels, calamari, stuffed mushrooms, gnocchi bolognese, and beef tartare. Wowww. Lucky for us, Adelmo was visiting with a wine purveyor showing him some wines. He actually took a minute and let us try a prosecco that the salesman was tasting. Special indeed. Then for dinner, we had the waiter pick us six dinners that would go well with the red wines. All surprise we don’t care as long as its good. Well it was fabulouso. Veal osso buco, buffalo osso buco, veal parmigiana, lamb chops, meat lasagna, and rigatoni bolognese. We shared all the dishes and were more than satisfied. The bolognese is one of t

My family and I are HUGE fans of Maestro’s in Addison. We stopped in one afternoon after a concert at Addison Circle and have been hooked ever since; we make it a point to have our “Family Pizza Night” there every Friday night! Not only is the location perfect (smack-dab in the middle of Addison) for a quick by-the-slice order or a sit-down meal, but the service is excellent. The owners are there at the restaurant almost every hour of the day and make it a point to stop by and make you feel welcome. The pizzas (we usually go with old-school pepperoni) come in a variety of sizes and have almost any topping under the sun, as well as a handful of specialty pizzas. Don’t make the mistake of thinking this is a straight pizza joint, however. Their lasagna and pastas are some of the best and are made fresh as you order.A great selection of beer and weekly email coupons for special events/ Cowboys/Stars/Mavs game days make this a tough spot to top if you’re looking for the perfect NY style
