Where is the Best Italian Food in Baltimore, Maryland?

My boyfriend and I made the trip up to Baltimore for the weekend, and after a long day of sightseeing we made our way into Little Italy. We went down High St. looking at the menus beside the doors until we stumbled across Ciao Bella. We were immediately greeted at the door by who I eventually learned was the owner, and after telling him that we didn’t have reservations, I guess he took pity on us poor tourists (carrying bags from the National Aquarium) and fit us in. The service was incredible- the wine selections and food were fantastic! We got the Sangiovese wine, and the Chicken Marsala and Gnocchi a la Pesto- both are highly recommended. We finished up with the Tiramasu- probably the best I’ve ever had- including traveling to Italy. Probably a good idea to make reservations though- the place was busy and it would have probably been much easier to get in.Pros + Atmosphere, Service, Food, Wine List

Della Notte is one of the finest restaurants in Baltimore’s little Italy. The menu offers an incredible array of Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. My most favorite dish there was the braised rabbit. But of course, they have a wide variety of pastas and salads. My favorite: the Insalata de Fragoli, a very unique salad topped with strawberries, walnuts and goat cheese.Be sure to save room for desert and espresso.Great place for a romantic night out.

If you can get past the attitudes of the evening host and hostess, you should have a very nice evening. It’s hard to enter a restaurant and expect to enjoy yourself when the people seating you look like they want to take your head off, and that they are doing you a favor by being there. Once inside, most of the servers are good, food is excellent. If you could simply seat yourself, I believe the atmosphere would be nicer. Thank goodness we were sat promptly. Also, topics of discussion by the same should not be able to be overheard by patrons. I didn’t particularly care to hear how the hostess felt about other employees.Pros + Good Food, Pleasant Servers, Nice PortionsCons – Evening Host, Evening Hostess

Enjoyed a delightful meal and excellent service. We started with the Antipasto Italian, a delightful combination of meats and cheeses (sweet buffalo mozzarella and a smooth, tasty romano) and calamari fritti (fritti perfectly). I had the Linguine allo Scoglio (Shrimp, scallops, mussels and clams tossed with linguini in a spicy tomato sauce) and my wife had the Rosette di Vitello Alla Parmigiana (thinly sliced veal topped with eggplant and mozzarella cheese in a tomato sauce), both the best we have ever tasted. We topped the evening off with a capuccino and Tiramisu. The Tiramisu was perfect and still mouthwatering the next morning. My wife, who always adds two scoops of sugar to her capuccino almost asked them to take it back because her habit of adding sugar actually hurt the flavor. Yes, the value is only “average” because the overall price for everything was about equal to other great Italian restaurants I know and visit frequently. I will definitely stop in again the next time

A group of nine came for lunch and it was probably the fastest sit-down lunch I’ve ever had. Were were away from the office for only 40 minutes including the walk to and back. Our ringleader called in…
