we made a reservation fortunately….usually I don’t bother…but as it turned out to be prom night……it was good to reserve a table because it was packed. We were seated on time and tho packed it really was not too noisy to carry on a conversation. We chose the family style dinner and a Tuscan red from the very nice wine list….lots of wine choices at reasonable prices. The fried zuchini was as good as I’ve ever had and the veal mushroom ravioli was superb….. we had several plates of both. Go there hungry and don’t expect to lose any weight. The salads were very good…I liked the Maggiano’s salad best. We had several plates of Tuscan mussels which were covered with garlic in a light broth….oh man they were good. The pork medallions…. were also nicely cooked and seasoned. For desert I tried desperately to finish the creme brule’….it was rich and sweet….super…..but no room left for me. Service was good and it was not too expensive…..~100 for four without wine. I a

My girlfriend and I went on a Tuesday. It was very ez going. Good Food, Good Price you can eat here for a fist full of dollars, Nice Wait staff. Order the House wine (Merlot). The menu had plenty almost too much to select from. I would recommend this for dinner. Sure there are carbs but carbs get a bad wrap. I do wish they had some whole wheat selections.Pros + Great place – relax and enjoy Cons – No wow effect but maybe that does not matter

I’ve been going to Da Marco since 1997, so I’ve seen it grow and mature. We go about 2-3 times a year, and when we went last week, I was surprised to see more changes (no more shocking pink paint! plus a new foyer). The food was about as good as ever. I enjoyed an appetizer of roasted peaches w/proscuitto and taleggio, lamb chops, the wonderful velvety nocciola gelato; husband ordered the rabbit which was excellent. However, we made a costly mistake: our guest had ordered one of the daily specials – a pasta dish with the famous seasonal Alba truffles, not realizing the price was $85. And to compound the mistake, she had ordered some for her hosts to share, so the tab just for pasta was $170! Apparently, no one saw the price posted on the board, so be warned! I did call the manager (apparently the old one has departed?) to express my surprise, but to my disappointment, I got absolutely no sympathy, in fact, a rather defensive attitude. Still, I would recommend Da Marco, but for

La Vista has a cult following as one of the most wine friendly restaurants in town. Offering BYOB with modest corkage fee, it’s a great place to gather with friends and enjoy your favorite wines. On sunny days and weekends, the crowds come here in droves, forcing waiting patrons into the parking lot, where the restaurant sets up a seating area complete with plastic chairs and tables. Heck, most people break out their bottles in the parking lot, causing the general merriment to spike upward quickly. That’s probably the best thing about La Vista – every time I’ve been there, everyone is happy and friendly. On one occasion, the table sitting next to us offered us what was left over of their pizza, and in exchange, we poured them a taste of one of our wines. Sometimes you almost feel like you’re at a big dinner party the way people mingle in the restaurant!! Now to the food. The bread here is to-die-for, so all you Atkins dieters, beware. When you sit down, you will be served with lar

I recently visited Campioni’s after a 15-year hiatus and found an expanded resaurant with a larger menu and the owners looking a bit older. I had a pizza and a salad and they were both delicious. Don’t you just love non-chain non-formulaic restaurants with friendly, but not robotic service? “Il Campionissimo” of Italy, Fausto Coppi would be proud of this establishment! I’ll be back before another 15 years pass. Nice lunch atmosphere consisting of neighbors and business folks. There are not enough well-run places like this one since the Wall Street crowd has taken over the hospitality and restaurant businesses.Pros + great chow, friendly service, decent pricesCons – tucked away off of FM 1960 although it has signage
