Where is the Best Japanese Food in Los Angeles, California?
It’s hard to say more than what has already been said by the numerous Urasawa reviewers. Nevertheless, let me try. The food is undeniably good, but there is an obvious question here for anyone who isn’t a celebrity or millionaire: At a starting price of $350 per diner (which likely ends up closer to $500 after 3 hours of drinks, tax and tip) is this restaurant worth it? If you struggle with the idea of such a large tab, then you may very well be disappointed as you will likely never find food to your liking at such a price. However, if you could see yourself paying such a tab for a one time celebration of Japanese Cuisine, then read on.My wife and I aren’t gushing with cash but we heard about this place some time ago and committed to budgeting for it as our mutual Christmas present to one another. You must try this place! Yuzu’s Japanese dishes are really great, I mean it, REAL great! Many Japanese restaurants change the flavor a bit, which destroys the real taste, but Yuzu’s each and every dishes’ taste are exactlly the taste I got in Japan. You can’t talk about Japanese food unless you try Yuzu.The only thing I thought it would be better to be changed was the music… Not loud, but Techno and Club music… 🙁 How about Japanese new top 10 music? 😉
Sai Sai is in the Biltmore hotel, one of the most beautiful downtown hotels. Very deluxe. The interior of Sai Sai is spacious and light.I’ve had lunch here several times and the food is always good. They have nice side dishes with their lunch packages, including a wonderful eggplant-seaweed delicacy that was delicious and beautiful. The sushi is good and the sashimi is even better. The only downer: service at the tail end of lunch hour can be slow because it gets crowded, and there are not even waitresses. However, when you do get their attention, they are courteous and attentive.

The sushi melts in your mouth, and you will savor every bite.I wouldn’t say that its exactly kid-friendly, but we have adventurous 6 & 3 year olds who will eat the Edamame and the “Cookie” (cooked fish only) here. The atmosphere is pretty modern-casual, so you don’t worry about the making a mess! They keep asking to go back!The iced green tea is very flavorful, and the staff has always been really helpful and friendly, even though the tip is already built into the price!!!Pros + top quality sushi, no frills setup!
