Rivera presents Spanish and South American delicacies and very innovative takes on the traditional tapas spots of Mid City. In fact, the very thing that sets Rivera apart from its neighbors begins right at that bar. The bar manager has carefully concocted the restaurant’s specialty drink menu. Their take on a margarita includes fresh lime and floating cucumbers for a refreshing relaxer. If Burke-Williams served alcohol with their $100 massages, this would be their relaxing signature. The Barbacoa is a heady mixture of blanco tequila, chipotle juice, jalapeno, agave nectar and ginger. Float a homemade slice of beef jerky on top, and you’ve got the most complex and satisfying bloody-sweet mary tequila drink of your life. Rivera leans toward all things tequila, which includes the thick-leather “tequila tasting” chairs, low to the ground for easier landings and departures, and saddled with broad side extensions to easily set your glass between sips. They are basically old-school, eleme

We had reservations for 8:30 and called to say we are late- they saved our table for another 15 minutes and we arrived in the nick of time. We were seated on the patio next to the windows for beautiful LA views. The staff was friendly and the ambience was nice- good music in the background but not too loud. The mojitos were fine, but nothing out of the ordinary. We ordered jumbo scallops to start and they were outstanding. We also ordered the duck, the pork roast and the butterfish with a side of plaintain rice w/guacamole. The food was delicious, albeit the pork and duck tasted a bit too fatty. Oh well, rich food for a reason sometimes. :-)Our server was attentive and we enjoyed the evening. I don’t usually go all out at pricey places, but it’s great to treat yourself once in awhile.Overall, and excellent experience and I may return one day.Pros + Nice atmosphere, views, delish foodCons – a bit pricey

Up the street from a few pretentious Hollywood hot-spots, I find the delicious haven of Brazillian cuisine to be a true refreshing delight. I suggest going for the most interesting sounding dishes–Brazillian cuisine is truly wonderful, and you can’t go wrong here, so goo for something unique. It is always crowde because of the prime West Hollywood location, sometimes the patrons a re a bit rowdy because they just got out of a bar, or are perhaps going to one. Sometimes the service suffers a bit because of this factor, but I don’t blame Bossa Nova entirely for that, though they should accomodate the clientele as best as possible.Parking is a toughie– I try to avoid weekend night and I can usually find parking at that park on San Vicente, or on Almont just one block West.Pros + Great unique food, worth all the cons!Cons – Parking is a hassle on weekend, croowded

Why do people go to this place??? This is not an exaggeration. The food tastes exactly like a freshly opened can of DOG FOOD smells!!! Taco Bell is gourmet mexican food compared to this S&#T-Hole. I’m blown away that people line up to this garbage stand???

I love to go to LaLa’s. The food is cheap and delish, the service damn decent, and the ambience is perfect for either a date or a GNO (girls night out). The twinkling white Christmas lights intertwined with foliage on the patio lend a romantic mood to an otherwise bland patio. I highly recommend trying the skirt steak, the chorizo sandwich, and the flaky empanadas. Treat yourselves to the homemade Sangria as it absolutely delicious and a perfect complement to the hot Latin flavors. Another nice perk is the quite handsome Latin waiters who love to flirt, though subtly and never rudely. They won’t be inappropriate with your wife or girlfriend, but a group of single girls can expect a little extra attention from the male servers. The only downside is the notoriously scant Melrose parking but Lala’s fortunately offers a valet service and for L.A., the cost really isn’t bad. Oh and some goers might not like that unlike most of L.A., the owners allow smoking on the patio, which forces many n
