Vegetarians have it kind of hard in this city, espeically if the spouse is a die hard carnivore. But at Lorenzo’s everyone can leave happy and still have enough money for a movie afterwards. The generous portions of pasta ( chicken alfredo for you canrivores- or the ziti and marinara for the vegetarians) may mean you’ll be taking home some leftovers. The menu has tons of options for the vegetarians (veggie to the max pizza, lots of pastas and some old world favorites like lasagna for the carnivores). The salad is fresh and perfectly paired with the house dressing (made from scratch daily- they really should bottle this!). The wine list is big for a little place ( the texas sweet red is great with the chocolate walnut pie- or if you’re lucky, the chef sometimes makes the best canoli outside of Rome.) Give it a try- especially if you need great food for an office party in the medical center area- or if you’re like me and a vegetarian, or like my husband and a die hard carniovre- Lo

We wanted something light for lunch so stopped for soup and a sandwich. My husband ordered apple juice to start, and our server brought a cup of ice and a juice box, complete with straw attached to the back. After getting over our shock, it took a few moments to tear the top open to pour it into the glass of ice. It was either that or try to squeeze it from the straw. The soup ordered tasted fine but once again was suprised to see our half a sandwich had hardly any meat on it. There was one very thin slice. I guess the bill was our fault for not looking more closely at the menu as our total for 2 orders of soup & sandwich (cup of soup & half a sandwich) with juice cost us $23!. But get this, that little juice box cost us $2.50. What??The service was good but I would not recommend if you are watching your budget.Pros + good serviceCons – expensive, small portions

My sisters and I held our parents’ surprise anniversary party in one of the bar’s party rooms. The food was absolutely delicious and plentiful and the set-up of the room was exactly what we asked for. If you are on a budget then this is one place to check-out. There is no cost for room rental, you are only paying for the catering. Linens, set-up, and clean-up are also included. The DJ was a minimal fee and was very good. I was explained up front that my deposit of $200 was non-refundable, but could be used on food or drink if the event was canceled. I do recommend good bookkeeping on the client’s part because there is no contract and I honestly don’t think a record of the pre-payments I made to the bar were kept. I kept all my receipts and got all the details like cash bar prices and fees in writing. I didn’t want any surprises the night of the party. Parking can also be issue, but anywhere in downtown S.A. poses a parking issue.Pros + Excellent buffet, ambience, event s
