Where is the Best Mediterranean Food in Nashville, Tennessee?

I’ve eaten here a few times: a couple at the old location, and a couple at the new one. At the old location, it won Best of Nashville for “Restaurant with a View”, now it’s tucked next to overflow parking for downtown events. Coming from the northeast where Italian food abounds, I was never blown away by the food. I mean, it’s good. It’s just not what you’d want for a last meal on deathrow. The last time I went (at the new location), I was uninspired. The food was (again) just OK, but this time they had to raise the prices to cover the move to the new location. Needless to say, it wasn’t that great to begin with, and was overpriced at the old location. This is a bit sad, given that there really aren’t many non-franchise Italian restaurants in Nashville, and just about all of them are merely acceptable in the food dept, and in that regard, they’re usually inconsistent. Sadly, I’ve taken to eating at the upper-end franchises, as the food is always good (if not terribl

I rarely give any restaurant a 5 star rating. I dine out so much in my travels that it is hard to find a “good ‘restaurant that I would frequent, especially in my home town. Anatolia is not only authentic in its food but also in its atmosphere. Anyone who has enjoyed a full meal with a Turkish family or in a Turkish restaurant knows that time is not important when it comes to good food. I have seen some negative comments in these reviews about the service and I would like to respond by saying that this is not an in and out restaurant. Come in and order an appetizer and some hot tea (they refill it for free so enjoy as much as you like) and relax. Also, the food is all prepared from scratch, so it will take awhile as some of these dishes are complicated. I actually overheard one customer complaining how long one of the deserts took to arrive when it clearly states on the menu to order it in advance as it takes 20-30 min to cook it. This is a restaurant you come to enjoy your food and yo

Best food in Nashville. Chef Deb knows her stuff & combinations of herbs, spices, & choice of accompaniments superb. Mixed review due to inattentive server. Greatly disappointed with only one vegetarian entree & like previous reviewers, was told must call ahead ?special requests.? If so, WHY does Zola make a point of playing to the vegetarian aspect of their menu? Luckily, the one vegetarian entree was delicious, & if it had been served hot, rather than room temperature, we would?ve been 100% satisfied. (Not on the chef, but server, who delayed delivery.) Lamb entree too was room temperature, however, flavors are exquisite! Had lamb in Greece & this was even better. Tender, moist, flavorful! Accompanying grilled eggplant sandwich divine. Sides: Sugar peas in butter sauce, spinach w/ parm & grilled zucchini. All excellent, favorite zucchini. Pleasantly surprised at generous portion size?enough for leftovers. Best dish: Fried Casseri Cheese Starter with roasted tomatoes, spinach
