Where is the Best Mover in Austin, Texas?

I lived in my old place for two years partly because moving is a pain. I wasn’t in the market to make any of my friends help me move a washer and dryer down from my third-floor apartment, and, having a new job, I didn’t have a lot of time to move some of the larger items in my home. I chose Aardvark because they came well-recommended on City Search–and for good reason! The two movers who came were helpful and friendly. They carried a whole lot of heavy furniture down more than three flights of stairs, still taking time to have fun conversation and always willing to be flexible and go above and beyond. Andre was especially helpful. He beamed to me about how happy and satisfying he found moving as a profession. You can imagine the kind of great service you’re going to get from someone that excited about his job. They had me moved into my new place, which had the good fortune of being situated directly on the ground, in about a half hour. All of my stuff was perfectly in tact,

The movers for Blue Whale did an excellent job with my belongings during a local move. Not a thing was broken or damaged, and the guys were very courteous. Overall it was an easy move.My only complaint is that their estimator has no idea how things actually work on moving day. First off, it took three phone calls and five e-mails to get the inventory list correct. During the onsite visit by their sales-person, I was promised several things that turned out to be completely false:- The movers will completely unhook and reconnect your washer/dryer (They cannot legally disconnect or reconnect a gas line)- The guys are trained on how to install the moving bolts on front loading washers (they cannot do this for liability reasons)- Just stack all your garden tools into a trash can and we can charge it as one item (the guys dealt with it, but had never heard that suggested before)- Every item of furniture will be wrapped in pads before being carried out of the home (not the way it

After talking with a few moving companies and reading reviews I went with unicorn based off the number of great reviews they received. I have never hired movers before, but with my current job, do not have time to spend an entire weekend moving. I was concerned about costs so I set up the per item move so I could plan ahead. I called and spoke with Scott who was very friendly and professional. We set up everything and it was all planned out initially. The only reason I did not give a 5-star rating was because I called later that week and scheduled an additional stop with their receptionist. When I called the day before to confirm, she had not relayed the info about the second stop to Scott who was unaware of this change. I then had to re-set up everything for the additional stop, not an issue, just a minor annoyance. Scott was more than friendly during this process too.Moving day was great! The gentlemen who helped me move (Driver 750, Mover 860 – I forgot their names) were reall

Moved houses over the weekend. Overall the move went well. Minor scratches here and there, but we had some very heavy/bulky stuff going up tight stairs. A lot of the negative reviews seem to be tied to a crew which I did not have. We got Pete (the comedian), Eric (the genius), and Scott (not Bankston)… I would request this crew if you are concerned about the negative reviews here. Most moving crews can handle the basic: move this heavy object from here to there. You really know you have a great crew when said object does not fit into the doorway/hallway as is and somehow they find a way to get your object in without damage to anything. This is the crew you want to do your move. Scott Bankston is a good guy… His planning and advice saved us a lot of money. We appreciated that. He also stopped by during the move to verify we were well take care of. The one thing I would change is how payment is handled. It was clear they wanted payment in advance of work being completed which is
