I made reservations over the internet (easy for busy diner). We were met at valet service immediately, and greeted by both the hostess and a male employee (maybe co-owner?). He checked our coats and sat us by one of the big, beautiful windows for the spectacular view of the trees in the courtyard (lit with thousands of white lights for the holidays). I had requested a nice seat when I booked the reservations and they really came through. Our server seemed to really enjoy her job, and informed us of the evening’s special. I began with the pumpkin soup and LOVED it! It was thick and flavorful and just the right temperature. For my main course, I enjoyed the chilean sea bass over sauteed spinich, cheese grits and a strawberry sauce. These combinations seemed so opposite, yet they worked together to create such an explosion of flavor, that I could not believe it! My husband enjoyed a ceaser salad, and the grilled lamb chops. He has not been exposed to lamb that much in his lifetime, but

I have been to Treehouse many, many times: with girlfriends, on dates, brunch, drinks, dinner, you name it… Great menu, I’ve never ordered anything I didn’t like. However, my last visit may very well be my LAST visit. Our server, BETHANY, was completely rude pretty much throughout our entire meal. The food took longer than it should have, but what was really absurd was the fact that a friend had to ask three times for her dressing. Another friend was asked to “chug” her martini because the kitchen was out of martini glasses. Then when the bill came, Bethany refused to split it 6 ways, telling us that she was too busy. We asked to speak to the manager, and much to our dismay it was her. She gave us a condescending lecture on how their policy is no split checks, again stating how she was way too busy (there were open tables on the patio, and no one waiting to be seated) and then said “I need you to split your checks and pay, and I need you to do it NOW.” It is no wonder to me that her

We went to Canoe to celebrate our anniversary last night. It was a wonderful experience – probably the most relaxing dinner I’ve had at an “upscale” restaurant. We arrived about 15 minutes before our reservation & had a short wait at the bar, then were escorted to a table on the patio. The gardens were lovely and our server (June) was just right, not obtrusive, but always available when needed. We started out with the beet salad – delicious and I’m not a beet lover! I ordered the rabbit and my husband got the halibut. I must say that the rabbit was superior, very tender, slow roasted and tasty. I didn’t care for the ravioli that came with it, the pasta was okay but ovewhelmed by the applewood smoked bacon in the filling.. My husband’s fish was well cooked, if a little underseasoned, but the side of giant couscous with wild mushrooms and sugar snap peas was delicious. We finished with a housemade raspberry/orange sorbet with dark chocolate cookies. Perfect! June even boxed up
