If you are looking for a place to call your own, then Roeders Pub is your answer. The drink selections are vast – be it a martini that tickles your fancy, a cool mixed drink, a pint of your favorite ale or even a chilled shot of Tuaca or Jagermeister. The bartenders are some of the best I have come across – great at what they do and make you feel right at home. Many a time I have seen a person who has only been in once before be surprised that the bartender remembered what their drink prefence is. If there is an import beer or special liquor you fancy but they don’t carry, let them know and Ben and Sandy Roeder will try and take care of you the next time. I have seen previous reviews say that there are a lot of regulars that frequent the bar almost as if that is a bad thing – kind of tells you something about the staff and owners, I think. BIG Houston sports fans, especially Astros. For the smoking sports fan bummed about the smoking ban, you can still enjoy the game, your drink and

This used to be a place that we went to all the time. The food was great and the prices were good for the area. Their margarita’s were excellent. I would bring people from out of town here and suggest to others that this should be the place that we meet at. After a while their margarita’s changed (I should mention that this was in ’07) and I made a comment to the manager about it. He told me that your tastes change with the season and that is why it didn’t taste the same. Well, we’ve been there plenty times since then throughout the year and they have not gotten any better, even with ordering a better grade tequila. The food prices have gone up considerably since then as well. The food is still good, but I can’t justify the price for it. When a single fajita taco (which has gone down in size and up in price) costs over $7 for something you can get elsewhere for under $2, then it’s hard to justify going. We live close by so we walk which is really nice, but you have to eat there at the

We love this place. Great food – try the curries on Wednesday evenings, a choice from 7 curries and a pint for $16.Every week night finds some special, Steak, Burger, Curry, Meatballs, Fish & Chips, and all top notch food. The beers’s a tiny bit pricey – although you can always drink “lite” beer for next to nothing. Loads of choice, real British Ale and a British Boozer atmosphere to match. The star of the show is George, the surfer barman, if you’re lucky enough to get in while he’s working, he’s incredibly knowledgeable about what’s going on in Houston and elsewhere, and will always point you inthe right direction about what’s on the menu, and more importantly, what’s off the menu – there’s always loads of stuff not listed.Just try it.Pros + Great Food, great beer, and the surfer barman – fantasticCons – A tiny bit pricey but hey, it’s worth it.

This review is mostly for their Thursday night salsa night. Ok let me disclaim my review by saying I am a hardcore salsa dancer. Going to Sky Bar every Thursday is like going to church every week for…

My friend & I had the crab cake & lobster bisque for the appetizer. The crab cake was good. However, I was disappointed w/ the lobster bisque. The bisque just didn’t have good flavor. We had the Cajun ribeye & the bone-in ribeye for the entree. The Cajun ribeye was not good, very dry even though it was medium. The bone-in ribeye was much better, very good flavor. Our waiter was very friendly & the service was excellent.Pros + food & service
