Where is the Best Romantic Dining in Bend, Oregon?
My girlfriend and I visited the Meranda on a Sunday evening in October – there was hardly anybody there at that time, so it was very quiet. I really liked the excellent wine list and the bread we got. However, the dinner was a real disappointment. I had the lemon chicken and I’m still pondering the question whether there was something wrong with the vegetables or whether it was really supposed to taste that bitter. My girlfriend had a vegetarian meal that was at best average. Thus, I feel that I cannot really recommend the Merenda (except for wine and bread). If you look for an alternative, I would recommend the Cork (note though that we’ve spent only two nights in Bend and thus have only been to two restaurants – there might be other really good places around).Pros + WineCons – Food
Everytime we have eaten at the Pine Tavern, it is a great experience. The food is excellent, service is always tops and the atmosphere is exceptional. I am a vegetarian and am always accomodated with delicious food. The cooks are willing to do a special and I am always delightfully surprised when I taste it. They have made portabella pasta dishes for me, roasted veggies and pente pasta, and various other great concoctions. The deserts are so good and we always have a great dinner experience. We make a habit of getting there early, before the dinner crowd and have consistantly had great service. Would definately recommend the Pine Tavern to anyone looking for a delicious meal in a beautiful place. The patio gardens are a lovely place to eat overlooking the Deschutes River.
I see why Bend Living gave them “Best Wine Bar” 2006 Their Chef has a cajun flair with some of the best food that I have had in Bend or anywhere. The Jazz was great to top it off. My only complain was the place need to be bigger. It was packed but fun. My boyfriend was very pleased to see that they had alcohol so he was able to get a martini.Pros + Food and JazzCons – parking
