Where is the Best Romantic Hotel in San Diego, California?
This is a hotel whose whole message is about design…. and it does have a unique, semi-industrial look to it. I am half way through a week-long stay, and can tell you that I would trade some of this style for a little more creature comfort.Tucked between Croce’s restaurant and a way-too-loud Patrick’s II Blues Bar, The Keating definitely outdid itself on Pininfarina styling…. my room has gray painted concrete floors, stainless steel & glass double sink, a Lavazza Blue espresso machine, B&O stereo and flat screen HDTV. The mini-bar and snack bar are stocked with goodies, but read the menu first! Only the espresso is included in the price… offerings range from $3 for a small chocolate bar, to $120 for a 375ml bottle of Belvedere Vodka. Also available is a $15 Disposable Digital Camera, an $18 Kama Sutra Kit, a $7 Intimacy Kit, and a $5 First Aid Kit. The hotel was much less expensive than most alternatives near the convention center which had me concerned but the hotel was excellent. Clean, well designed, great restaurant, and just a 10-15 minute walk to the convention center. Rooms are small but well maintained, nicely designed, and more than adequate for one or two people. Would definitely recommend and stay there…
I really don’t know the area but I bought a Frommers book trying to find great dining and good wines but it had nothing that told me anything so the hotel I was staying at was indeed all that I was seeking including wonderful musicians. We to ask where the resturant was and was greeted by very polite staff and sat us immediately. Then came the wines great selection of many wines on the menu our choice was shariz and was quite smooth. Then I ordered home made coppa roasted golden beets with fallbrook radish and castelmagno cheese ……..was incredible. I loved the teas was exeptional the best I have had in a while. Since I order the finest in Thailand there selection included loose teas by mighty leaf and feel in love withoolong teas wow! The waiter was so attentive and friendly it made my dining pleasurable. He then served us the sweet sugarsnap peas and wild asperagus poached egg anson mills soft polenta black truffle and main dish was black spaggetti and shimp with calabrese saus
