Where is the Best Seafood in San Francisco, California?

I have been here several times and have always enjoyed a great meal. In fact, the cioppino might be the best I have ever had. It is amazing! My one complaint…it takes forever to get your food. I have been when it’s filled and when it’s empty…it doesn’t matter. You are waiting for half an hour no matter what.Pros + FoodCons – Wait time

The Hotel (Le Meridian) had suggested Plouf as a casual option since our luggage did not make it to SF until 10:00 PM. We went early (6:00) and had the place to ourselves. Belden St. is a row of dining options sat in pretty close quarters. If this bothers you, go elsewhere. The food and service were good. The Halibut my wife had was very good. The pork tenderloin I chose was a little over cooked, but good flavor. The wine selection (by the bottle) is slightly higher than some better establishments.

Never have I had a restaurant so willing to accomodate me. I couldn’t make up my mind between the wasabi bowl or the fish tacos so they gave me both, half a bowl and one fish taco. It was outstanding and the prices aren’t to be believed, they are dirt cheap and the food is wonderful. I wish I had them at home, I’d be there every week. The wait staff is more than friendly, I even got a hug on my way out. Not to be missed when in San Francisco!Pros + Very inexpensive and a great valueCons – None

We ate dinner here on a Saturday night. The restaurant was packed both inside and out, and it appeared that there were only two servers outside. We received our drinks and appetizers in a timely fashion. The bruschetta was very good, and the calamari was awesome. However, there seemed to be a little bit of a lag receiving our entrees. The table next to us had actually received their entrees, and we’d been there and ordered before them! Anyhow, when our food came, it was quite good. We had the farfalle dish which was ok; the gnocchi which melted in your mouth and was quite tasty; the seafood cannelloni which was very good; and the veal which was also very good. The desserts were great! The insde of the restaurant looked fairly small, so we ate outside in the alley area which was quite charming since it had been a nice day. Anyway, I’d go back, but maybe not on weekend evening, as service can be slow

Amazing view. Great Ambience. Wonderful wine list, friendly service, unfortunately the food is overpriced and it was unimpressive. If you’re in the mood for plain crab and lobster for $50 a la carte then go for it. I ordered their version of fish and chips ($29) and had a stomach ache all night. Unfotunately, the sides don’t make up for the lacking food. For those prices I expect more from a dish. The presentation is unique and I do give them credit for their intent.
