As one of “true characters” that inhabits Jack’s more on weekday afternoons than on Saturday nights (my picture hangs behind the bar in the front room), I’d just like to add to the official review. The beer selection is not modest at all. While Jack’s does offer old favorites like Old Mil and IC Lite, they also carry at least 3 varieties of Pete’s Wicked, various Penn Brews, along with many other microbrew bottles and they have Guiness and Hoegarden on tap. And, some of the bartenders are more than willing to mix up apple martinis, top shelf margaritas, as well as apple pie shots. As far as the characters, just perch yourself on a bar stool early on a Tuesday evening, and let the fun begin.Pros + inexpensive, great beer selection, friendly bartenders

I have to tell you…..Bash is the hottest spot in the burgh..better yet in the state of pennsylvania. Me and the ladies are sick and tired of these old men bars around our hometown, so we decided to check out the strip…and what a good decision that was!!!!!!! We met some studs….i mean STUDS!!!!! They had money the had the moves and most importantly they got the looks…..so LADIES bash is IT! so danny tate is kinda like donny iris if ya burghers know what i mean…yep thats right…Danny tate was there…and damn did he look FINE!!! I sopped him up like a biscuit with gravy….so STUDS if ya wanna meet some foxy ladies and danny tate we’ll rock your party socks LOOSE!!! we’ll be there every weekend, cause there’s no place like bash!!!!

With a DJ that plays yesterday’s top 40, this club may have been able to get somewhere, but what’s with the 80’s-like trashy attempt at upscale? The list of items on the “you can’t wear this here” list at the entrance is laughable! If they were in a bad area in LA, NY or Chicago, that would be understandable. This is Pittsburgh, however, so what’s up with “no baggy pants, no colors, no “logos”?? Enforcing “class”??? The Pitt-trash style for sure, but class? Touch’s got a long way to go, with the little middle-aged woman standing watch-dog for “classy” outfits at the entrance together with a bouncer that is on a common power trip – “we got a dress code here!”. Inside… it’s a hellish meat-market to the beat of that old tired song you are sick of on the radio… Welcome to Touch… no thank you.Pros + DarkCons – , Idiotic dresscode, No alcohol in drinks

I first came to Mario’s on my 21st birthday, which was 11 years ago. Off and on, I have visited Mario’s on several occasions. It never changes. These guys do a great job. I agree, they must be doing it right with how the bars come and go so quickly in the South Side.Pros + ConsistentCons – Prices rising, rising, rising.
