Where is the Best Thai Food in Nashville, Tennessee?

I love this little gem of an eatery. Home cooked food by a fabulous cook. Home made chili paste and flavors that make your mouth sing! I like Lao food better than Vietnamese for the savory flavors and the vegetarian options. The Pho..noodle soup has less five spice/Anise taste than Vietnamese….it’s more savory to me. The Pad See Ew is the best. The chinese broccoli with mushrooms is a favorite. They will substitute TOFU for meat in any of their dishes. Easy to eat vegetarian here. I’m writing such a great review because I believe it to be true and….I want them to have enough success to stay around so I can enjoy their food for years to come. Did I mention the fried Calamari or the spicy chicken wings??? Yum Yum. Pros + The food cooked with love, parking, budget, hours, good friendly serviceCons – Ambience is a little like a cafeteria…but the food makes up for it.

We used to go to PM all the time, however, because of one server, our visits to PM have been few and far between. After out last visit, I was completely discouraged until I called back to the restaurant to talk to the manager. PM is one of the neatest places in Nashville. Also, it has come along way since I moved here. The inside has been completely remodeled and looks amazing. Even the presentation of the menu has improved. I would venture as far to say that everything there has improved…EXCEPT for the service. We used to go to PM several times a week until we were waited on by Tina. Her name is not imbedded in my memory because of her fantastic service, but rather by her atrocious behavior. She is the worst waitress I have ever had. She is rude, makes mistakes, forgets things, doesn’t bring you utensils while your food gets cold…things of this nature. This was the sixth time she has waited on us. After our last visit with Tina as our server, I wanted to never go back to PM again!

We had Pad Thai here on several occasions. Half the time, the pad thai was very good. The other half the time, it was inedible. The last time we visited Royal Thai (this past week), we ordered the bean noodle salad, steamed dumplings, and pad thai. The salad looked half its normal size (I had had it before) and had more iceburg lettuce than anything else. The steamed dumplings were obviously microwaved and therefore difficult to chew. But the coup de grace was the pad thai. It was a big glop of microwaved mess. It also tasted overcooked and burnt. I asked the server when it was prepared and he had the audacity to say that it was freshly prepared. Needless to say, we did not eat that pad thai or order another one. The server–who had not been pleasant to begin with–never apologized and made us feel like we were committing a crime by refusing to eat that atrocity. I have worked at a restaurant before and make a point to never send something back unless the situation absolute

My friend brought me to Royal Thai – I had never heard of it…or even had Thai food before for that matter. The selection is vast! Although, I do wish they had more healthier options…or at least put them in one place. Everything was delicious, especially the spring rolls-probably the best I’ve ever had. Definitely get the Thai Tea – so good! The service is great. Each time I’ve been the server has been very friendly and respectful. The prices were very reasonable – I just wish I made enough to eat out more – because I would be here much more often!Pros + Yummy, Good ServiceCons – Not closer to my house 🙂

Recently I was taken to Jasmine by a group of co-workers who insisted it was definitely worth the trip down 65 from our office near 100 Oaks. I had been by the building before, but always thought the restaurant must be yet another incarnation of “strip-mall Chinese,” judging from the plain brick exterior. Wrong on all counts. The interior sports nicely textured exposed brick walls, and low-slung bench tables like those in a sushi restaurant. The place was packed our first trip out—and given the dearth of restaurants in the area—is always a good sign. Our service was fast and efficient, and nary a single error was made in anything. We passed everything around—highlights were the ginger tofu, the tom kai soup, and the spicy hung ray curry. Loved everything, and it was definitely a bargain for lunch at less than $10/per person. Will have to try the banana dessert on the return trip. The only criticism I have would be that it will definitely take up 2+ hours to get in, eat and get ba
