And that’s not to say that anything was necessarily wrong that they need to fix. Extemely busy Friday night. We were a party of 4 with one person in a wheelchair. I made reservations for 7:30. We arrived at 7:20 and were told it would be about 15 minutes. No problem there since we were early. However, much of the restaurant seating are booths which can’t accomdodate the w/chair and slowed our getting seated. The host/manager was extremely attentive and kept me up on options as they came. We seated at about 7:40. Overall, food was above average and won’t quibble with whether the entrees (Baked herbed 1/2 chicken; New Orleans BBQ shrimp over rice; BBQ Beef Brisket; mini pizza) were $1 or $2 more than they should have been. Only the BBQ Brisket was questionable. Harpers may advertise and charge upscale, but this is a totally casual eatery. Pros + Attentive staff, Food quality, Drink specialsCons – Noisy, Not fully accessible, Very casual for $$

I probably should have stuck to my server’s advice, but none-the-less, the ravioli stuffed with a veal/cheese blend accompanied with the house salad wasn’t extrodinary, yet wasn’t bad. She explained it wasn’t one of the most popular dishes, but I had my mind set – oh well. Great wine selection, though. As far as the service and the overall experience, I would definately go back. Only this time I’ll heed her advice like I did on the wine selection (tasty tuscan Rosso).Pros + Service, Good for small groups, Fresh foodCons – Not terribly intimate

This place well…the food is fabulous, the outdoor seating is one of the best in Charlotte, the service was pretty bad. As the previous person wrote…be prepared to wait for quite some time for a table if there is warm weather. Although while you wait you can order a drink and stand/sit outside enjoying the weather and people watching. The food was exemplary for this type of restaurant. I highly recommend the Bacon Wrapped Scallions or the Blackened Soft Tacos. Both were a great twist on an old favorite. However the service was horrible, the waitress spent alot of time talking to the next table about how “hot” their son was. Before we were seated they attempted to make 3 people share a menu because they were running low and then only gave us 2 sets of silverware and 2 napkins for 3 people. One of the busboy/hosts pointed his finger at us and gave an attitude when we asked for more silverware. The bartender was very rude he never once smiled, asked us how we were or anything

I read about Blue Restaurant and Bar in another Charlotte-based publication and decided to plan my best friend’s bachelorette dinner here. I called and arranged a time to come in and scope out the restaurant as well as try out some of the items on the menu. I was very impressed by the appetizers – which range from delicious scallops to equally yummy flavors of the Mediterranean. My husband and I also tried a few martinis and desserts on three different occasions. We were pleased with the selection and decided to book a reservation for our upcoming dinner party. Roughly a month prior to the event, I discussed the party details with two different staff members and was assured we would be allowed to sit in the Solarium room (their patio area). About two weeks before the event I called to confirm our reservation and was then told that another group (larger party) had also booked the same room that night, and that we (smaller party) would need to move to another area within the restaurant

I went with 5 other people, and we all loved the food and were very happy with the restaurant. The prices were low, considering how good the food was. It is in a nice area, and the restaurant is welcoming. Good service. Cute bar area. It is a good place for families or for a casual date.
