Where is the Best Trendy Scene in Seattle, Washington?
My fiance and I recently moved to Seattle and with our pocketbooks being a little tight, we have been trying all of the happy hours around town. Queen City Grill has the best one in Belltown for sure and possibly anywhere. We have been in twice now and have tried the shrimp, bruschetta (spelling?) , and the AMAZING kobe beef sliders. The only thing better than the quality and of the food was the price. For just $5 each these are the best quality happy hour items that i have seen. To make it even better, we saw their info on the table about facebook and twitter and saw that they offered the kobe sliders for free just for telling them we saw it. What a deal! We still have not been in for dinner and are waiting until we get a little more settled into Seattle to splurge. We will however go back again for happy hour especially since they have the best bartenders and staff that we have seen so far in town. My wife and I had just started watching a japanese animated series called Bartender and it actually got us interested in cocktails (dorky, I know, but that’s how we roll). We wanted to find a place that had wonderful drinks made by a man who knew what he was doing. Doing a search on google found Drinkboy, which is an excellent site run by a man who knows his drinks. So my wife and I went out on a limb and went here.The location is somewhat hard to find. The bar is located on the second terrace of the Pike Hill climb, which is about half a block south of Pike st., and then you have to find the staircase doing down to Alakan way, and then you have to remember to look beyond the mexican restaurant. We both missed it on our first try. But boy were we rewarded for our searching! We came in on a Sunday afternoon about 30 min after it opened and at the time the bartender is conversational, and wanted to learn who we were. Go here during football and college basketball season. MAKE RESERVATIONS! It is almost impossible to sit in the recliner area where the big screen is however you can see the big screen from all the tables. Our waitstaff has been friendly and not pushy… they understand you plan to be there 3+ hours and don’t expect you to order appetizer, meal and dessert. Place isn’t too loud so if you watch a game different from the big screen you can still hear. Food is okay… my reuben was awful, had absolutely no flavor but the ranch chicken sandwich is yummy. The Haagen Dazs milk shakes are delish, almost a meal in themselves! The burgers are big and hearty, I tend to share the Bleu-Cheeseburger with my husband as who needs a half pound of beef sitting in their stomach. The pizza’s are thin style so one person could eat a small. The nachos were really disappointing and not at all plentiful, especialy for $12.25 if you order with chicken.
