This is an all vegan Chinese restaurant. We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. The outside was not eye-catching, and it’s a wonder anybody knows about it. I was staying the weekend with my friend who lives in Granada Hills, and even she didn’t know about it. The staff was very helpful, friendly, and patient. Because Happycow does not designate this restaurant as all vegan, I asked which dishes were not vegan. Our server said that the menu had been changed to 100% VEGAN. A few items that used to contain egg and whey and were omitted. That was a relief. The next challenge was the massive menu. 7 pages of way too much to pick from. After much deliberation, we decided on the seaweed salad, the wonton soup, and, just for the heck of it, the jellyfish for appetizers. The wonton soup was perfection. The jellyfish (I’ve never had the real thing) was overly chewy. Wasn’t bad, just…chewy. For our main dishes, we ordered chicken and broccoli and a beef and mushroom dish. Mo

I live out near Pasadena and My boyfriend found this place on city search for me. I dont eat meat & he does. So we decide to take a chance and make the long drive to the Green Temple. The restuarant is small but the setting in the patio was cozy and had a tranquil. The central fountain added to the ambiance. My boyfriend being a meateater was plesantly surprised at how much he enjoyed the food eventhough it was strictly vegetarian. The server was excellent! They even offered the reciepe for their ToFu cream sauce, which was to die for! I loved it so much that they gave me some to go for a small fee. Bottom line is Great Food, Great service and my boyfriend and I will definetly make the drive again!….(FYI …try the white lasagna it’s sooooooooooo delicious!)Pros + Good Value, Fresh food, knowlegable StaffCons – none that we noticed

This is the ONLY restaurant for which I will drive to the Valley. It’s well worth the schlep! It’s located in one of LA’s first vegetarian health food stores so shop after you eat. The food is unreal! I’m not even a soup person, but their soup selection is awesome – changes daily – all made in house. Interesting flavors – they will give samples. Always a vegan and no-salt soup option as well. They have a fantastic and diverse menu. It’s so hard to decide what to eat because everything is so good. Their fake-meats are spectacular. They have mexican, greek, indian, etc. dishes. There’s usually a special – my usual choice! Breakfast and Sun Brunch are also fun. Great pancakes. Excellent coffee as well. The pies are also well-liked. We were surprised, but their Pizza is actually very impressive. Fri. night has pizza specials if you can handle the traffic. It’s not fancy – very down to earth. Eat inside or on the patio. Food’s not light, but sure is delicious – at least

I have to admit I’m not a fan of raw food restaurants, but its a fun novelty (INSULT! j/k) for me every once in a while. We went to Julianos for some raw sushi! Its basically fat rolled in nori with mustard on it, but the “eel” roll was tasty. The rest were sort of repetitive. They serve honey there so I wouldn’t call them vegan. I had some wine based drink w/o the honey… vomit! However if you are into raw or just want to experience it this place is really nice, you can sit outside and enjoy a nice evening. Don’t order the bottled water because their filtered water is really good and free!

I went to Nobu for the first time last week, and was kind of disappointed. I’m a big sushi fan, and thought that the fish was not that fresh. The waiters took their time refilling glasses, and weren’t that helpful or courteous. The look of the restaurant is nice, though, and thought that it was a pleasant setting for a meal, if only the meal had been a little better.Pros + great decorationsCons – fish wasn’t that fresh, wish the waiters had been more attentive
