I’m glad I read about this charming little restuarant before I went because the outside is definitely deceiving and I might have been scared off. Once we were buzzed in we decided to sit at an inside booth. Neither of us had ever eated Southen Indian Food before and were a little overwhelmed by the menu. The owners were very nice guided us into ordering the Tanjore Double and the Punjab Glory dinners so we could try a little bit of everything. They assured us that eveything would be vegan and even brought us the vegan version of their spicy cardamom tea. Delicious! When our entres arrived we dove in with wild abandon, which was made easier by the fact that Southen Indian cooking is mildly spiced. We still don’t know what some of the dishes were, but we both loved the lightly crisp potato dosa, the succulent uppuma and the savory eggplant curry. We put their amazing sambar on almost everything. I can see why some folks eat it with a spoon! We’ll definitely be back and bring our

Thankfully, I discovered this wonderful establishment a few years ago while hungry and scouting for food on a Saturday afternoon. Upon entering, I discovered a wonderful layout of colorful looking fresh foods set in simple white plates in a long display case that stretched the width of the café. Inside, the seating consists of small round tables with French bistro wicker chairs and a long wooden communal table. The small tables outside are coveted among its patrons in the spring, summer and fall seasons. Come lunchtime and the place is packed with a variety of people: vegans, vegetarians, macrobiotics, celebrities, hipsters, people coming in from a work out and locals like me who are not vegan nor macrobiotic but looking for a healthy meal. My favorites amongst the menu items are the California Club, The M Chop Salad, the Spicy Tuna and Spicy shrimp sushi rolls, Organic Fries, Big Macro, the Cauliflower and Broccoli Soup, Carrot and Barley soup, Bi-Bim Bop and Brown Rice Pudding. VALUE: There are two menus, the a la carte and their buffet all you can eat menu. The AYCE is just $12.99 per person and they bring you made to order piping hot dishes to your table. There is no buffet “bar” to visit. What a perfect fusion of “Chinese” and “buffet.”FOOD: Our group opted for the AYCE buffet; All the more reason to order family style, so here’s what the group ordered: (I’m going to quote Catherine C’s ” OMFG!!” because it was truly a never ending procession of dishes!!!!)My FAVS were:#47: SPICY Eggplant with Hot Sauce – I absolutely LOVE LOOOVED this dish. The eggplant morsels were large and plump. The hot sauce was a very tasty kind of spicy instead of the hot kind of spicy! Just wonderful with brown rice and with the congee we ordered.#16: Chopped Mustard Green with Bean Curd Sheets and Edamame beans. – I enjoy this vegetable because it has a slight bitter kick to it. The shards of bean curd sheets provided a delightful color and texture contrast to the heartiness of t

Great food and decor. It is dark in there but I think they are just going for that mood. Make sure to always make a reservation and ask for one of the booths to get the whole experience….very romantic and wont be just another candle-lit dinner. Pros + Romantic, Great foodCons – Service can be slow sometimes

My friends ordered from this place for take-out one night, and I made the mistake of not ordering anything for myself! The food was so delicious I ended up mooching off of everyone else’s plates. I finally had the chance to try it again tonight, and the food is even better than I remember. The menu is huge, including a great selection for vegetarians. There was so much to choose from so I just played it safe and ordered vegetable masala, samosas, and garlic naan. Everything was amazing, down to the sauces and rice served on the side. The owner gave me my order and he was very friendly. The restaurant is deceptively nice inside considering it’s location (inside a strip mall). I can’t wait to go back to try some of the other menu items. Highly recommended!Pros + Food, Service, PricesCons – Parking a bit tight in the strip mall
