I am so happy I discovered this hole-in-the wall downtown LA restaurant. My boyfriend and I always get the same thing – two bbq pork sandwiches and 2 thai ice teas. This comes out to about $8! Now that’s a good deal if I ever saw one. The food never fails to impress and the place is usually packed with locals and lucky people like me who discovered Boda on a whim.Pros + excellent food and pricesCons – not much that i can think of – Boda may be a bit hard to find

Unless you are prepared to drive out towards Wilshire and Western, this is the best Vietnamese food you’re going to find close to West Hollywood. Absolutely Phobulous (pronounced more like the TV show than the food in our part of town) is a dependable fast restaurant. It’s usually packed because it’s popular, cheap, healthy and tasty. Prices are cheap–around $ 30 for two bowls of pho spring rolls and two Vietnamese ice coffees. Considering the high quality of and freshness of the food, I wish the menu selection was a little larger and offered some more selection. This restaurant fine for lunch or dinner. The only problem is that street parking on La Cienega is tight.

i love the place, the food is the best thai food i’ve ever had. The panang curry and the spicy fried rice is my favorite. Their delivery service is fast and always on time. After raving about this place, it is the new favorite of all of my friends and family. The only concern I have (which has nothing to do with the food) is that none of the waiters, waitresses, and cashiers speak very good english. But other than that….this is one of my top restaurant picks, hands down!Pros + amazing food, great price, delivery

I’ve been dabbling with the idea of trying Ginger Grass for a while. I heard it was a great place for Bun, Banh Mi, and Pho in the Silverlake area. Growing up Vietnamese Chinese I’m pretty picky about my those aforementioned dishes because homemade was always the best or living in the San Gabriel Valley and being driving distance to Little Saigon you could get authentic and good almost anytime.I was prepared for a complete bastardization of Vietnamese cuisine but hoping for a good plate of Asian Fusion. Instead, I came away really impressed. I had the Noodle Bowl with Grilled Shrimp and Imperial Roll. It was 10.50!!! the Imperial roll addition cost $1.50 for a little tiny roll the size of my thumb. My grandma would lecture me firmly for even thinking about paying for something like that. However, the little imperial roll was well done. Reminded me of Grandma’s freshly fried Cha Gio. The grilled shrimp was well marinated with definite lemongrass flavors. I suspect either th

Pricier Vietnamese restaurants have always disappointed me, but then again, my mother’s Vietnamese cooking has always spoiled me. So it came as a surprise that a cheaper bowl of pho from Pho Ha would taste so much like my mother’s food! I can’t say much for the ambience, but for cheap delicious authentic Vietnamese food in generous portions, stop by Pho Ha!Pros + inexpensive, generous portionsCons – crowded, lack of ambience
