Log Haven features wonderful food with a beautiful location. The menu changes and is always delicious, but it is not as good as some other restaurants as far as menu items are concerned. Go for the atmosphere–I was seated by the fire, and it made for a very romantic evening. The Oaxacan Cheese appetizer (not on the menu right now) was incredible, and I’m sad they removed it. Overall, the food is good enough to merit the prices, but it won’t take your breath away.Pros + Atmosphere, Ambience, Location

The point is an upscale cafeteria-type restaurant on the 6th floor of the Huntsman Cancer Institute. You can get pretty much anything you want here; Chinese plates, Mexican/Southwest plates, roast beef or ham on the carving block, burgers, sub-style sandwiches, huge salads, soups, and fabulous desserts. The menu is vast and and fairly diverse, with plenty of options for both meat-eaters and vegetarians alike. Everything on the grill is made to order (including fries) and you can customize your burger, burrito, salad, or whatever to your individual tastes. I particularly enjoy the burrito plate. You get your choice of three different wraps (tomato, spinach, or whole wheat), three different meats (chicken, beef, or chile verde), and two different beans (pinto or black), then they fill it with cheese, salsa, and sour cream, throw it in the oven for a minute and then smother it with more cheese and red (or green) sauce. By the time your burrito is constructed you’ve got about a pound

I eat at Chef’s Table whenever I have a special reason to eat out, maybe once a month or so with family and friends. The service is always great. Friendly, not snobby. The food is great, tender juicy steaks, fresh fish, some nice things like lamb and duck. I like the beef sirloin filet with the mushroom sauce. My wife likes the salads and the salmon with the scallop potatoes. The chef comes around and asks about dinner, but I think that is nice. He asked about dinner and made a wine recommendation. He didn’t hover, but just said hello. He seemed to know a lot of the regulars in the restaurant. Kindof cool in this day and age. This wine list is better than expected. Sometimes not everything is available, but that is my experience generally with Utah restaurants that have wine. A nice ending to a great meal was a large dessert menu with german chocolate cake, creme brulee, this rich chocolate thing and my favorite bananas foster. I think this place is family owned because it

The restaurant has a busy atmosphere. We went on a Tuesday Evening and we did not have to wait for seating, but it was just a bustling and noisy atmosphere. We have gone here before and really liked it. This time, however, not as much. We had a business dinner with a new Manufacturer’s Representative. He is from Vancouver, and is an avid fisherman. He knows his seafood. We told him he would like this place. Well, he loved the bread and the clam chowder. The salad was cold and came on a chilled plate, but the lettuce was wilted. The Ranch and Bleu Cheese salad dressings were good. The boss ordered oysters as always, and he loved them. My husband and I had the halibut. I have always enjoyed the halibut here, but this time it was very bland, and absolutely no flavor. It came with white boiled parsley potatoes, which tasted like dirt, as I imagine how dirt would taste. There were also brussels sprouts, which looked absolutely disgusting. They looked old, and overcooked. No
