Where is the Best View in San Antonio, Texas?
Came expecting just another business hotel but found this to have some unexpected touches of excellence. First and foremost was the friendly customer service, from the front desk to the bellstaff to the concierge lounge. My wife & I celebrated our 7yr anniv by having dinner there this Aug 07…You must call & make reservations which is not a bad thing (last reservations are @ 8:30)…I choose this place because of other reviews and city search had it at #1 most romantic and steak place to go…It is a little out of the way but that is what makes this place special…once you get there it is nestled in the hill country with beautiful scenes…The wait staff was very polite and quick on their toes…Some things that did not make the night like I wanted it was the fact that we were trying to have a romantic dinner and we were seated next to a huge party of woment that were loud and abnoxious (that really broke the romantic evenning i was going for)…The wait staff was polite in saying that they understood, however, there were numerous gatherings going on throughout the establishments and there really was not a place that was quite….I would recommend putting big parties in one place or leave a section w
I’ve been to the Fig Tree three times recently. Twice with my wife when I ordered very expensive $200 bottles of wine. On each of those occasions the service was sheer perfection, like the food always is. They fawn over you. On one occasion I went with business associates who don’t drink and we declined the wine. We had a reservation for six but showed up with three. The waiter was very snobby, acting better than us. He was obviously annoyed that on a slow night probably one of his only tables was only going to spend about $120. A restaurant with these prices and a world-class chef should ALWAYS treat customers like royalty. Because of that I cancelled another dinner there at which I would have spend over a thousand dollars with six people. I tried Francesca’s at Sunset after it was reviewed in the local paper, and then I did some research and it compelled me to take the plunge. I was very impressed and the food is very unique ‘southern’ cuisine. Everything was like nothing I had tried before. We actually had two full-time waiters helping us as well…which I find rarely happens. I’ve been here once, but it’s very close to my house and the Shops at La Cantera, so I have a feeling I will be back soon. I give Francesca’s an 11 on a scal of one to ten.
