Initially I was coming on here to leave a great review for La Poubelle (as I just did on YELP). Upon finding them on here, I read the review titled, “Let them eat cupcakes”. I feel inclined to interject a comment on this because I think this review was done as a vendetta as it seems pretty falsified. I happened to be inside the night this psuedo infamous Cupcake incident happened. It was during the debate and got much attention from several of us Poubelle supporters. This woman, who claims she was terribly treated was asked to leave a donation as it was an Obama fundraiser and the tray of cupcakes were clearly marked. When a waiter asked her quietly to make a donation she seemingly declined. I saw him follow her and quietly and kindly ask her a second time to make a donation as they were not free, she took a big bite out of the cupcake and said something sarcastic along the lines of “too late now”. Everyone in our section of the restaurant was shocked at the rudeness of this woman as

My experience so far at the Bungalow Club is that I went here with a group of friends at around 9PM on a weeknight. There were 5 of us. We didn’t need a reservation, nor did we have to wait for a table. We were seated immediately on two comfy couches out on the open air back patio. The cabanas were all full, but that worked out better anyway so we could all face each other and talk. The volume of the music was great. Loud enough so you’re not hearing everyone else’s conversations, but not so loud that it drowns out the people at your own table. It’s semi-enclosed with some stained glass which seemed to do a great job of keeping the heat from the heat lamps in, even on a chilly night, without trapping the smoke from the smokers. We were a bunch of girls who were there to catch up on gossip, so for what we were looking for, that was perfect. People may complain about the service not being as fast as it could be, but honestly, we weren’t there to be rushed in and out anyway. We’d all had

Went to dinner here with my boyfriend and we both enjoyed everything … the sangria, the lamb and shrimp were excellent. We also had the spinach salad with strawberries which was also wonderful. This place tends to get crowded, so reservations are recommended. Our waitress Amber was great – very helpful and great food recommendations. We will come back for many more dinners. Don’t forget to check out their great happy hours deals too.Pros + Delicious SangriaCons – Gets a bit noisy.

My wife and I went for lunch one Saturday afternoon. While it didn’t take long to get a seat, it did take long to see an indifferent acting waitress. I ordered a beer with my meal. They do not have your typical beers which was somewhat of a disappointment. On her recommendation I ordered a Belgium beer which was not good. It left an after taste. Next time I’ll order wine. The salads we ordered were good. I ordered the Pasta de Pesto and she ordered the Lasagna, which was very good. The portions were adequate. However, the overall experience was noting to write home about and I will continue sampling the Italina eateries in the neighborhood as this one doesn’t yet have a convert.Pros + Free Parking, Good value, Adequate portionsCons – Indifferent waitress, Slow Service

I recently took my parents here and found the food to be good, not great. It wasn’t disappointing but, nothing I would rave about. The service however, was great. My parents aren’t accustomed to these type of restaurants (language barrier) and feel very uncomfortable being there but, our waitress did a great job to make them feel at ease and not out of place. I really appreciated the friendly, casual service they had, unlike some snooty places I’ve been to. I’ve had waiters smirk or act irritated at my parent’s inability to figure out the multi course menus. Definitely going back for the food but, more for the service.Pros + Great service and great part of townCons – If you go during the day, takes time for your eyes to adjust to the sudden darkness inside. ^^
