Where is the Best Wine Bar in Los Angeles, California?

It finally opened. I work in Santa Monica and have waited with great anticipation for Pourtal to open. Didn’t think it would ever happen. My friends and I went over there one night after work to check it out. We were really amazed at what a nice place it is. The atmosphere was very cozy and comfortable and an easy place to hang out. The woods in the décor were beautiful. I understand the owner is very environmentally conscious. We tried a few different wines and really were glad that the staff was so knowledgeable and lead us in the right direction. I don’t know that much about wines, but I do know what I like and what I don’t like. What a nice, inexpensive way to find the wine that you really enjoy. The appetizers were delicious and not the usual fare. I would like to see more inexpensive snacks on the menu, but I loved the idea that there were complimentary appetizers, Monday thru Friday from 4-6pm.It really warmed my heart that during the month of the July some funds are b

We have been here many times for the fantastic Happy Hour at the bar so we decided to try it for dinner when a friend came to town. Little did we know that Sunday is piano night! If you love show tunes then you will be singing along but if you came to have a peaceful dinner conversation you may be left yelling across the table. Dinner for 3 cost us under $100 including HH drinks ordered at the bar. (Yes you have to order at the bar to get the special drink prices, but you will save about $20 doing so!) We split the Nice Mussel entree as our appetizer and were all impressed with the amount served and the lemon white wine cream sauce was AMAZING! Ask for some bread to get up bite! The crispy roast chicken (very herby!), special of the night pasta and pistachio yellowtail was flavorful and the portions had enough for leftovers. My only disappointment is that the food could have been much hotter, ok I would have even gone for warm! I kept looking for some sort of steam coming off one of

I recently spent an evening of great music, well-poured drinks, and delicious food at Spazio’s in Sherman Oaks,CA. I was very satisfied with the Stardust Martini as well as the Pistacio Crusted Salmon and the bartender made me feel at home. The music was pleasant and I even recognized some of the songs. I would come back again and again. I was told that Spazio’s will be offering a Happy Hour starting in May. In addition, they were very excited about their upcoming wine tasting evenings. I almost forgot but the desserts at Spazio’s are extraordinary. They offer a “Profiterole” made from scratch and tastes like Heaven. Spazio’s is a gem hidden in San Fernando Valley. Pros + Bartender knows how to impressCons – Not very many if any at all

Every Wednesday and Friday you’ll find us here. Wednesdays are no corkage and George will keep your glass filled, Fridays get a little crazy but are always a blast. You can do a tasting of 5 wines (usually 2 whites and 3 reds for $15) or just go with the heavy pour by-the-glass. The wines they find are truly inspired, inexpensive and delicious. The cool thing is you can bring home a bottle or even a case of that crazy good Malbec you tried for the first time without mortgaging your future. This is just the best, most comfortable wine store/bar in the known world that is Eagle Rock and all points beyond!Pros + EverythingCons – Nothing (OK, maybe the air conditioner could be beefed up a little when it gets crowded)
