Where is the Best Wine Bar in Los Angeles, California?

I went here with three of my friends on a Saturday night. First off, there was no line when we got there around 10:30 and the Doorman was by far one of the the most courteous and polite doorman I’ve ever met in LA. He smiled, complimented the ladies, and did not carry any pretentious attitude. He also dressed well in a nice suit and not baggy jeans or a hoodie. Inside, the Saturday night DJ was amazing. Again, some of the best music I’ve heard played at a bar. A nice balance between top 40 and some Old School with a slight emphasis on Tupac. While the interior is kind of small, its not at all super crowded. A pretty good looking crowd composed mostly by people in their Mid to High 20s and early 30s. My friends and I were able to move around quite easily and had no trouble finding seats at the bar. The wine selection is fairly impressive. I’m glad they serve Cristalino, which is one of my favorite sparkling wines (Even though at $8 a glass I could have bought myself an entire bottle f

Cafe Stella is a breath of fresh air. Yes, there may be better food or service elsewhere but Stella has something most restaurants in LA do not: ATMOSPHERE. I am so over the ultraslick Westside eateries that bear no resemblance to a true French bistro. If you want Hollywood gloss go there, if you want an authentic experience come here. The kitchen is more than competent and the service is cordial. I have been here on several occasions and the steak au poivre (medium rare, always) never disappoints. Charming place with character…a real gem on the East side.Pros + atmosphereCons – parking

This place has a lot of good attributes and, overall, an awesome staff (there are some exceptions, of course, but that’s par for the course). I am a regular, and will continue to go back. Bottlerock is good for small and large parties a like, and the staff is more knowledgeable about wines than any other place in downtown Culver City (there is still room for improvement on the wine knowledge/sophistication side, which almost earned them 4 stars instead of 5, but they are working on it, so I expect improvement). The manager is friendly (which is refreshing), she often circles the place to greet patrons, and the entire staff aims to please. The service can sometimes be a bit slow when they are busy — but hey, it’s a wine bar (so chill out and enjoy!). I recommend Bottlerock 10 times over Rush (a bar/restaurant in the same vicinity, which had an inexcusably uneducated staff, very disorganized service and clueless management).

I recently took my parents here and found the food to be good, not great. It wasn’t disappointing but, nothing I would rave about. The service however, was great. My parents aren’t accustomed to these type of restaurants (language barrier) and feel very uncomfortable being there but, our waitress did a great job to make them feel at ease and not out of place. I really appreciated the friendly, casual service they had, unlike some snooty places I’ve been to. I’ve had waiters smirk or act irritated at my parent’s inability to figure out the multi course menus. Definitely going back for the food but, more for the service.Pros + Great service and great part of townCons – If you go during the day, takes time for your eyes to adjust to the sudden darkness inside. ^^

My wife and I went for lunch one Saturday afternoon. While it didn’t take long to get a seat, it did take long to see an indifferent acting waitress. I ordered a beer with my meal. They do not have your typical beers which was somewhat of a disappointment. On her recommendation I ordered a Belgium beer which was not good. It left an after taste. Next time I’ll order wine. The salads we ordered were good. I ordered the Pasta de Pesto and she ordered the Lasagna, which was very good. The portions were adequate. However, the overall experience was noting to write home about and I will continue sampling the Italina eateries in the neighborhood as this one doesn’t yet have a convert.Pros + Free Parking, Good value, Adequate portionsCons – Indifferent waitress, Slow Service
