Where is the Best Yoga in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania?

I’ve been going to classes here for just about a year, and I love it. It took me a while to find a teacher who’s style was what I was looking for, but then I found Chris! Chris Fluck is my favorite teacher in the studio, by far. He doesn’t baby you, or whisper through class–If you’re looking for calming, peaceful yoga, this style is not for you. He sticks with the traditional dialoge, but infuses a little humor into it to keep your mood positive. He gives critiques without giving criticism, and is just really encouraging. The space can get a little cramped, since it’s limited by a small center city building, but there’s not really anything you can do to change it.Overall, if you’re looking for a whimsical, zen type of experience, Bikram in general is NOT for you. If you can handle the heat and sweat, and aren’t afraid to push yourself, I highly reccomend it!!Pros + Location, frequency of classes, Chris FluckCons – Crowded locker rooms, pricey (but all Bikram is)

I visited Dhyana Yoga for the first time a couple of months ago and found it to be exactly the type of yoga studio that I was looking for. After taking yoga classes for over two years at various Philadelphia gyms, I felt that Dhyana was a great place to go to learn about all of that insightful yoga stuff that mainstream gyms leave out. The group of people that make up the Dhyana staff are one of the greatest groups of people I have come across in Philadelphia. Everyone is very talented and educated and each teacher offers something entirely unique. I think that for anyone that feels a connection to yoga (and not just a way to workout) they should give the classes at Dhyana a chance. If you ever wonder if you are doing the poses correctly or wonder why do we do this? -Dhyana is the best place in Philly to give you those answers!Pros + amazing staff, beautiful space, central locations, fair priceCons – n/a

Heaven Spa is a marvelous Day Spa. My freidns and I as well as our families have been clients for over 3 years and have never encountered anything but the BEST!I am compelled to write this in response to the previous PHONY REVIEW written by another Day Spa (apparently)! What “she” claims is untrue. I have,in my hands, several gift cards from Heaven Spa and they all have the “expiration” language in BOLD PRINT on them-not small print as claimed. The owners are always helpful and always accomodating whenver we or anyone we know has any problems (such as expired cards). This is by far the best Day Spa anywhere and this PHONY REVIEWER should be ashamed of herself/himself for the obvious attempt to discredit Heaven Spa.If you truly have/had a problem the management is always willing to assist!!Pros + Knock your socks offCons – Nothing

Walk into the environment in the studio and you will feel peaceful and relaxed. It is carpeted with soothing healing energy green walls and diffused lighting. There are plenty of clean matts, blankets and bolisters to assist you with your poses. The instructors are extremely knowlegable in their practice and each one will add a different enlightment to your personal practice. You will walk out of the studio feeling energized with a heightened sense of awareness and a bit of giddness. A must experience for anyone who practices yoga at any level!
