Follow the upper rad hose frm the rad to the engine and at the engine you will find the thermostat in a housing. When replacing it make sure the spring goes twoard the engine. addendum!Ford in 2001 decided to take the simplicity of a thermostat located under the housing attached to the upper radiator hose on top of the engine and place it on the bottom right hand side facing, attached to the bottom radiator hose. It also is one piece instead of the housing and thermo seperate and is about 1000 times more money. I just came from from a ford dealer looking for the crank case vent tube and the service guy couldn’t find it on their web site?
