They do Drop the Box at your home then they also Pick-up later when you call that the box are ready to pick up. HI norway_steve, I’m not from CA so I’m sorry I can’t help you locate Filipinos doing balikbayan box forwarding service. As for sending valuable items, send it at your own risk. I’ve never had a problem sending valuable items in my boxes but the balikbayan box forwarders who are also my friends advised me not to declare it on the list (I guess so no one will be tempted to check it out) My mom received all items in my boxes. Another tip: Don’t declare the value of your box to be $100 or more, I’ve heard someone’s box is taxed and held in customs for doing that.
