Where to buy a villa in Languedoc?
We’d recommend looking for villas for sale in Languedoc in the rolling vineyards just in from the coast. The terrain here is soft and beautiful, not too steep for a nice garden (unlike some of the more mountainous areas further from the sea), and unlike the coast, less built up. Villas here enjoy gorgeous views of vines and garrigue, and offer more pleasant walks than properties for sale closer to the sea. The region between Pézenas, Clermont l’Hérault and Lamalou (a ‘golden triangle’) is very popular. The countryside is gorgeous, and Pézenas and Béziers offer great shopping, restaurants and some culture. Villas in Languedoc near the Canal du Midi are also very popular. Try Bize-Minervois, Pouzols-Minervois, and La Redorte. North of Montpellier, Gignac and Aniane are popular for villas for sale, both close to great swimming in the Hérault river.
