Which battle was poison gas used in WW1?
Poison Gas was used throughout World War I , and it was used to some degree in almost every major battle of the war. The French were the first to use gas during the Battle of the Frontier in the first days of the war, the Germans first used it at the Battle of Neuve Chapelle in October 1914. In both these case only a small amount of gas was used, and had only minor effect. The Germans first used it on a large scale at the Battle of Bolimov in January 1915 agianst the Russians, and they first used it on a large scale on the Western Front during the Battle of Ypres in April 1915.
