If life, and television, teaches us anything, it’s that there is nothing more boring than stories of somebody else’s hedonism. And nothing better proves this little philosophy lesson than “Gia” (9 p.m., Saturday, HBO, TV-MA), an ambitious and ultimately ridiculous cable movie about the fast life, sad times, and eventual demise of drug-addled supermodel Gia Carangi, portrayed by Angelina Jolie. The beautiful Jolie, who seemed so perfect as an Alabama beauty queen in the TNT movie “George Wallace,” is woefully out of place as the punky, kinky Philadelphia tough girl who quickly rose to fame as Wilhelmina Cooper’s (Faye Dunaway) most sought-after face. As the German den mother to a bevy of beauties, Wilhelmina is a comforting mentor to the troubled Gia, whose trampy but indulgent mother (Mercedes Ruehl) was thrown out of the house when little Gia was just a girl. Curiously, Ruehl plays a Philadelphia housewife with an odd Midwestern accent that sounds like Frances McDormand in “Fargo.” On
