Which colonial powers did not leave their colonies in a mess when they left/gave them independence?

In most countries where the colonial power was not western i.e. European in origin, the colonial powers usually assimilated with the local population. In the western based model, it was more of indirect rule. “independence” as you call it is a fallacy as no post-colonial state is truly independent. If a state exhibits some semblance of independence, the colonial “masters” do all within their power to bring it to heel. The game is called divide and rule. Thus you have civil wars as a perenial occurence in the former colonies. This is so that the colonies should subsidise the economies of the first world by providing slave labour and raw materials. Haven’t you ever wondered why Africa as the richest continent in the world is the poorest? They have PhDs, MAs, engineers in Africa but yet it does not develop. Don’t even believe about the nonsence on how it is corrupt. America, China, Italy (mafia) are more corrupt than some African states.
