Which combi boiler has good water pressure for showers?
A controversy here! It is true that a boiler with a greater heat input should give you a higher flow of hot water. It is also true that you need a good pressure from your mains supply. If you live in an area with poor pressure then fitting a 35kw boiler would not make a blind bit of difference. Boilers come fitted with flow restrictors in them, they can be swapped to increase or decrease the flow depending on the pressure and the temperature of the incoming mains supply. The manufacturers will give flow rates which are listed in the technical data along with the increase in temperature from incoming mains to water temperature coming out the tap.A 30 degree and 35 degree c rise are the normally offered rates. Most 25 kw combis perform adequately with thermostatic mixer showers as the flow rate from the shower is restricted through the shower head and maximum blended temperature is 45 degrees c.
