Which country has the greatest amount of famine?
There is no single official answer – famine is widespread across many countries. The biggest problem is actually poverty and exploitation – the exploitation of people in Third World countries means that they have to work very hard for very small amounts of money, and it often is not enough money to buy food. Food exists in abundance – there is more than enough food in the world to feed everyone more what they need, but because of large scale economic changes forced on “Third World” countries by big transnational companies (who want to grow food to export overseas instead of growing food to feed local people), the food doesn’t get to everyone who needs it. It is usually sent to where the companies who sell it can make the most money – and that isn’t where the poorest people are.
